Ive learned more watching these videos than i did in my 2 yrs at hair school. Im level 3 fully qualified and still dnt know alot when it comes to cutting. Colour was way easier for me
@godhascalled5 жыл бұрын
Alex Humphry OMG, I feel the same. My teacher was horrible about teaching cutting. Her constant response when I wouldn’t get a cut is, this is easy, why aren’t you getting it 😒. That’s no way to teach. Three more months of cos school and I’m hoping I can find someone outside of school to mentor me in cutting. Coloring came a lot easier for me too.
@ally_21_905 жыл бұрын
godhascalled all my tutor did was a demo of her doing the cut then said ok go do it. And just walked around. And as i was the only guy in the class i got overlooked big time. Hardly had clients. But yeah colour was earlier. With they taught redken shades eq for toning. As thats majorly usefull. But the swatch book and look for a vid on wat u should have in your starter kit
@godhascalled5 жыл бұрын
Alex Humphry Babayyyyy! Let me tell you. My starter kit was GARBAGE! Swatch book? The director of the school only passed out a couple of those to the people that she liked. I can tell you exactly what came in the kit: 1 mannequin, a set of combs, one brush, a cheap blow dryer (I only say that because I saw it on sale at the beauty supply for $10 🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️), a set of rollers, roller and pin curl clips, tint bowl and brush, a razor, a pair of cheap shears (I also know that because I saw them at the beauty supply for around $4), an electric marcel iron, and a wet cape. That’s IT. My school is a joke! I have to watch videos like Salon Education and so many others to learn anything because of the lack of disinterest in education 🤦🏾♀️

Rachel W I want to do that because my cos school experience has been less than desirable. I know cos school only teaches the basics, but what happens when the basics aren’t even being taught or an instructor ridicules you for not being able to do “an easy cut” the first time you ever do cutting. It’s crazy 😞
@cindysnow8025 жыл бұрын
I learned a lot from these too! I did learn one cool too in my beauty school, instead of a big bag or backpack we put our beauty supplies in a rolling tool box. Looked off but worked great

This was an easy tutorial to follow. Very efficient, not overly complicated. I think in 3 tries I should have this down...2 more cuts to go. I did over direction, diagonal back for the heavy long side and had very minimal clean up with a sharp angle. I truly loved the outcome

I don’t like the very long tip on the right side. I think it’s way too exaggerated. Also, it would have been more clearer if he would mention the degree of the elevation angles.

It looks very precise. I don't like it. Sorry, this is why going to get a helmet cut really does annoy me, as I hate this perfect terribly flat rounded unmoving anyway look. Can you do a choppy one which is longer with choppy layers as this is so office lady hair from the 60s. It's not in fashion. I really do not know why hairdressers do this to a woman. Because that is why women dread going to get their hair cut. It's the client that should be able to be listened to. This is very good at a technique of prestigious, don't get me wrong, you are very good at precise hair cutting. But no way do many women want this helmet on their heads. There is no forgivingness and not anyway, as you say that this is going to move out of shape. Nevermind. Sorry, just no way anymore. It looks like a hairdo. Too severe for older women.

He’s giving you the foundation! YOU can personalize the baseline however you like. Focus on parting, technique, elbow/arm placement, elevation, and directional form. Style is subjective.
