I have an original rack-mount Dyno-My-Piano Tri-Stereo Chorus... and your example is nearly flawless! There were three models (versions) of the Tri-Stereo chorus: 1. Dyno-My-Piano 2. Songbird 3. Dytronics ... and I'm sure I'm remembering they were in that order. They were all the same except minor changes throughout their production years. I think I remember the products going through various ownership changes in its production lifetime... hence the reason for the name changes. I could be remembering wrong, but I don't think so. Anyway... I have the original and it's phenomenal as choruses go... the Grand Daddy of ALL choruses. The only pedal chorus that ever came close in that 80's era was the BOSS CE-1 Chorus pedal... and even though that was rich, lush and versatile it still didn't compare to the Tri-Stereo Choruses. Thanks for the vid... the 80's were the best era for major technological change in the an era of major, rapid electronic advancements, and rock/pop music as well. Or, that's my 2 cents anyway!

Thanks so much!!! I love the sound of a great 80’s chorus. One day I’ll build an old school 80’s rack rig utilizing a Tri-Chorus unit. Rock on, Scott

I'm surprised you never mention Cocteau Twins?!?!?! Anyways, I'm trying to run a simple setup for live but not sure the best way to do it. I basically can't get the detune stereo pitch effect live. In robin guthries equipnotes online (interesting read) he mentions running direct into the board a lot for an ultra clean sound then to the classic stereo pitch shift -9, and +9 thing, then to dimension D chorus, followed by delay and verb and I'm trying to do the same thing live. The problem comes in with stereo? So in my DAW I just use a dyna comp into a behringer dimension chorus into a multi fx pedal that gives me a brighter sound also delay and lexicon reverbs, which then goes to my DAW where I use Soundtoys Microshift (which is the famous -9, +9 detune). Long story not so short, the stereo widening really makes the sound for me. although its not his exact signal flow its lush enough for me. How do I eliminate the use of the plugin? I see you split the path on the helix and this might be my best bet I'm thinking. I don't know when to go stereo in my path? also any work arounds would be better than buying a $1,000 helix just to get the pitch. Thought about just branching off in the path (after verb) and using detune and slight delay to the left channel. Also some cocteau twins riffs would be cool to hear from you. Bluebeard, wolf in the breast, rilkean heart, crushed, heaven or las vegas, cherry coloured funk, cico buff

I've never listened to any Cocteau Twins stuff...got any recommendations for a new listener? I love the -9 & +9 detune trick, I use it all the time! I also use chorus effects in conjunction with the detune for further modulation madness! If you don't want to spend the money on a Helix, I would suggest an Eventide H9 pedal, the core one with the Pitch Shifter is all you would need. Rock on, Scott.

Start with Treasure or Heaven or Las Vegas. The TriChorus has a very Robin Guthrie vibe

Very cool chorus! I'm disappointed that I have to keep my jazz rivet drive super low so that it doesn't start breaking up with my double coil pickup guitar (JP12). With Strat, not so bad. You would think that model is the cleanest on the list?

Eventide H9, or a TC Electronic Gravy...or, a pair of Boss CE-2's...but, I prefer the Helix.
