Watching this two years later. I've had my Helix for about 6 months now. Thanks for this great tip.

thats a nice little trick and should be great for hotter pickups too.

wow that really helps, thanks Ben...is there a way to do this at the global level so that every preset will have the gate at the input? I'm not seeing there's a way for this.
@bvesco6 жыл бұрын
There is no global gate that can apply automatically to every preset. You have to use the gate within each preset individually.

Hey! Do you think that the new HX Stomp from Line 6 could do the same? I really should be the case because the HX Stomp only let you use 6 blocks.
@bvesco6 жыл бұрын
Jonah Paz , it should but I don’t have one to test it.
@sjsphotog6 жыл бұрын
It should as its the same engine as the Helix just without the amp sims I dont own one so cant test.
@NicolaCoinMel6 жыл бұрын
Stephen Soukup not correct. The HX Stomp has amp sim. It’s actually the same software with limitations like 3 footswitches and only 6 blocks available but as far as amp sim, ir loading and effects, they are the same.

Great tip./trick here. nice job. Are there any negative effects of doing it this way?
@bvesco6 жыл бұрын
Stephen Soukup , no negatives as far as my playing style and needs go!

@@bvesco thanks. Just got my Helix LT so enjoying it and yeah a NG is a MUST for your signal esp for those HOT patches with high gain stuff. Im glad you can assign it to a controller as well since sometimes I dont need it for my single coil or softer sounding patches. keep it up Ben!

Have you tried it in the 4CM? I have a noisy amp I'd like to silence.
@bvesco8 жыл бұрын
I have not 4CM yet. Are you on Facebook? If so, join the "Line 6 Helix User Group" where I know there are plenty of folks who have tried 4CM and like it. They'll give much better 4CM advice than I could.

Darren Gill it works great with 4 cb method. I have a black star ht metal 60 fully cranked no noise / humming at all just a little fizz when u turn it up full blast from the amp itself can't prevent that
