We are indeed fortunate to be alive when Jeff Beck was. As with many here, I was around when we all first heard of him, Clapton, the Who, the Beatles, Stones, etc. And we are indeed fortunate to have a huge volume of his work to listen to, to watch on youtube until we die. There's Page, Beck, and Clapton, according to age - the big 3. I pray that Page and Clapton still have many years left and continue to play for us. God forbid, one day we will hear that Ringo and Macca have died. Ringo just turned 83 in July.

Vinnie - yet another Zappa discovery
@Bob-of-Zoid3 күн бұрын
@@frankrowe3592 Vinnie was already a well known studio drummer before Frank heard about him, and also toured with a few bands by then, but Zappa did see that something special in him he wanted him for: Vinnies ability to play odd timings and poly rhythm's naturally. Listen to some of Vinnie's fills in other stuff, and small amounts in some early studio tracks where he got away with it, if you take that, emphasize it, and use its "offness" as a base to build on: it makes for freaking cool musical stuff, and Frank knew what to do with it!

You could tell he was always destined to be a STAR: Jeff fell in love with Rock and Roll as a child, and built his first guitar as a teenager. "The guy next door said, 'I'll build you a solid body guitar for five pounds", "Five pounds, which to me was 500 back then, so I went ahead and did it myself". "The first one I built was in 1956, because Elvis was out, and everything that you heard about pop music was guitar.". RIP Jeff.
