Great video Jim. I always enjoy watching your videos and put most of the places in these videos on my bucket list to see. Your video of Colorado on i70 watching from the Utah state line to east of Denver after watching it I knew I had to drive that stretch. So my wife and I rented an rv and we pulled our equinox from Tampa, Florida all the way out to Glenwood springs Colorado. That was the 1st time I’ve ever seen the Rockies. I love the Appalachian mountains. But those are hills compared to the Rocky Mountains. That stretch from Denver out to the Utah state line is some of the most beautiful stretches of highway I’ve ever seen. I can’t wait to do it again and the next time we’re going to the great northwest Northern California, Oregon, Washington state. Beautiful country.

i just wanna say that i left a comment on this channel when i was around 12 saying that you should drive corridor H in West Virginia, and i remember our conversation leading to you recommending that i drive out west. since then, your videos put roads on my bucket list. now that im in my later teenage years, ive driven across the country, and seen some roads I’ve always wanted to see from your videos. thanks for uploading these, idk if i would have had as much of a desire to make the memories i made in these places if it weren’t for your videos. it’s been so cool to see i-90 in WY, or i-70 in CO, or i-90 in MT from your videos, and then seeing that exact stretch in real life. i dont know if you’ll see this or not, but thank you for these, and maybe we’ll see each other on the road some day!

@@Freewayjim thanks! if you’re still doing all these road trips, i highly recommend doing i-94 in North Dakota, it’s really scenic for a middle america highway, and i-70 in utah right after the CO border (honestly it rivals 70 towards the eisenhower pass)

Thank you for watching, glad you enjoy the videos, yes I've done several longer stretches than that in one day but that's a pretty good haul for sure, one that sticks out was during the 2016 trip going from Sheridan Wyoming to Ellensburg Washington, roughly 840 miles with some backtracking for video in Spokane WA. After first discovered his videos in I think 2015 or 16 I finally got my ticket to ride in 2017 I'm went from Iowa 2 San Francisco I'm back and forth to Colorado several times visiting my daughter. A strange thing is the road over these Sierra Nevadas was much more torn up buy tire chains than anything I've seen in Colorado. From Tahoe up and over to the West that right lane is tore the hell up

That section of I-80 from the CA/NV border to Donner Summit is an extremely stressful drive. I've done it many, many times and it never gets easy. Snow and ice possible 8 months of the year, aggressive and reckless California drivers, steep grades, and lots of trucks. Not for the faint of heart. If you want a more relaxed entry into CA from NV, try Highway 88 over Carson Pass, or better yet, Highway 4 over Ebbetts. Just don't expect to attain your kind of speeds on those alternative routes.

The entirety of I-80 is pretty bad. I nearly died in Wyoming a couple times due to the sheer nuttiness of the truck drivers. My guess is that this stems from higher volume due to its location - driving through the heartland, servicing more populated areas than I-90, lacking proximity to ports to relieve some traffic like the southernmore interstates. I dunno.
