I feel like it was very much over hyped. However the more I fly mine, the more I really like it. It IS faster, it IS better looking, it DOES have longer flight times. This is one of the best power system setups out there. The roll rate is amazing on high rates. the nose gear is a little more stout. Thank you for non over the top videos. Thank you for not having music playing in the background the whole time. the intro vid could be half as long imho! i do watch all the vids. The reverse thrust is useless imo :P FYI i get 5 mins on my 5000, 5200, and 5500 lipos, medium flying with several fast passes. I get 7 mins with my custom Li-ion pack.

Agree the power system is a great upgrade on several points. I enjoy hearing planes more than music :D Reverse thrust works but plane lands so slow not really needed.Thanks for feedback on the flight times too...

This beautiful Avanti SV2 came back into stock, and I'm torn between this and the Freewing F-22 Raptor High Performance 90mm EDF Jet - PNP. Honestly, I'm not thrilled with the grey/red paint scheme, and I prefer original Freewing Avanti S High Performance 80mm EDF Ultimate Sport Jet - PNP, yellow/white. I currently fly the mighty E-flight Viper 90mm, and it's in a class all by itself. I just have an empty space in my hanger, and the Freewing F-22 Raptor looks impressive. BTW - at 6:41 a little WD-40 will alleviate the bird-chirp. 🙂.

I agree with you about the red and grey color scheme of this new Avanti S V2. They should have used white instead of that military grey paint. You might think that this jet being red was going to be very visible in the air, but in reality, it is all the way around... this plane disappears easily against the blue background of the sky... I almost crashed mine on maiden flight day due to loss of orientation caused by that combination of colors. It'll be either painting the bottom of the plane white where it is grey or maybe painting some fluorescent stripes under the wings to help with orientation. About the F-22 Raptor 90mm and the Viper 90mm, they are both great jets... I have them both, and I love the way they fly... You'll be happy with the F-22 Raptor should you decide to get it, although ij my opinion this new Avanti V2 flies way better than the Viper and the F-22... Paint scheme grew on me once i seen in person.Reminds me of something on a 3D plane. Yellow and white was nice too (same one i had),especially if white was painted. F-22 is a awesome bird as well. Harder to see cause of color and profile. However its so capable,basically a 3D performing (minues the hover) so aggressive and light wing loading with lifting body. Viper 90 is something special for sure!

@davidgerlach1132 I also have the Eflite F16 80mm Thunderbirds, my friend... I have videos on my channel... The F16 flies great, although it isn't the most forgiving jet out there to fly... The F16 could bite you if you aren't careful, especially on turns. This new Avanti S V2 is easier to fly... According to MotionRC, it is rated for experienced pilots, but it flies like a trainer jet... Don't take me wrong, this Avanti can bite you too, especially if you lose orientation due to her new paint scheme... Yeah, I'm telling you from my perspective, Freewing dropped the ball with the paint scheme, should have more contrast, that's the only thing holding me back, and I aren't no Bob Ross. We fly fast and need all the help we can get. Also, I fly my EDFs very hard. I mean, you don't buy a CORVETTE Z06 Coupe 3LZ and worry about gas mileage.

Cruising around very easy might be able to get 6 minutes. 4 minutes blasting around. 5 minutes ir probably the median overall. Thanks for the sub too!

I noticed they keep going in and out of stock quickly. Havoc XE i had last year. Fun jet and feels different than others.However Avanti for sure all around better. So if you got new in box,id probably do the same. Im all about hearing the jets! Thanks for checking in from Netherlands :)

I haven't flown it yet hearing all around about it's bad tendencies to stall (I have other models to fly so there was no pressure...). With Avanti - it looks great and it seem to fly great. Can't wait for it to get back in stock :) I must say, that when it first appeared on motionrc - I did not pay much attention until I saw "real life" videos :D

It looks way better than on the pictures :) They only have messed up the manual and put the old one in the box (no biggie - the correct one can be downloaded from their product page). Btw, you've mentioned the it has the drill bit roll rate. What did you end up with on the ailerons for normal/pattern-like flying?

Hello from NZ, I have just ordered one of these great Jets and should be here in Jan. Looks like 5 min flights are the norm when just cruising. Question, I see you have not glued the wing border piece on the wing between flap and aileron?? Any reason for this, please explain. Cheers, love your channel, keep them coming. Garry

Plug yellow wire into open channel. Channel Assign > Assign Switch to same channel

@@hobie278 using 3 way switch e you will have 2 one way and 1 the other. Toggle switch to change forward and reverse. When you say didnt work, thrust or reverse?

@@BDTennessee I plugged into channel7 but before I assigned any switch I checked the throttle and it would go to reverse instead of forward. I then assigned it to the bind button still went in reverse I let go of button and still goes in reverse. Can you explain in channel assign what I should set like ch7 to switch E for example. I appreciate the accurate reviews on the EDFs. My experience, or lack thereof, was gained flying CTH flying wings and the Turbo Timber EVO, along with some other like-performance planes. After seeing your video I felt this might be a good step up for me. Others at the field didn't think I was paying my dues without flying a warbird. This weekend I flew the Avant S V2 4 times without any issues. I configured the plane with an AR 8360T Rcvr, HRB 5000mah 6S 50C LIPO, reverse thrust, and the throws you specified. Other than needing a little "up" elevator trim, the plane flew like it was on rails with AS3X turned off. I like the heavier feel of the plane compared to what I've been flying. We fly off of 400 feet of rolled short Bermuda and it seemed ideal for the gear configuration. It is good to know the reverse thrust is there if needed, but it was only used for taxi ground handling.
