Hey I installed the same units in my mig and pretty happy with the way it performs vs the stock 9blade ,love the sound and the vertical is much better , I started running a true 45 c battery and that gave it another bump , fun plane for sure now

Any thoughts on if the FMS 2000KV setup would be a good match for this plane or is the FMS 2100KV a better setup?
@ghoustanable2 жыл бұрын
It would be a rocket ship. I sold the plane to a friend of mine and that's definitely what I would do. In fact any 80 mm jet I would change it over to the 2000 KV.

Wondering if you can help me out mate.. I'm going to upgrade the ESCs and will pull the red wires to disable the bec so will wire in an external bec. Will a 10A be sufficient over the 8A stock? I can only dial the V down to 6 minimum. Will that be OK? Cheers. Mark 🇬🇧
@ghoustanable Жыл бұрын
Yes, that should be fine for this jet .just make sure that the bec voltage does not go over 5.5 volts to be safe. Cheers 🍻

@Garfield Houstan if its set at 6V won't it go over 5.5V at times tho? Thanks mate

How do you set up an esc when there 2? I'm thinking of changing to an esc that has reverse thrust too (avian 100A) but I've only ever had single ESC stuff. Would telemetry also work with Avian and my smart lipos on this dual set up? Also would a 6ch RX be enough or do you feel a 10ch would be better (have u added any special mixes to need the extra ch). Cheers

Not familiar with the Avian ESC. That said, six channels should be fine I believe the Horizon Hobby ESC does not require an additional physical pin on the receiver to do reverse thrust. The transmitter that I use is a FRsky x20s 24 channel transmitter. That said if you're planning on doing thrust-vectoring with the MiG-29 which I strongly suggest that you don't do It's waste of money. It'll also decreases the power of the 2100s significantly...not sure if it's an FSA problem but both myself and another pilot at our club experience the exact same phenomenon after upgrading to the thrust vectoring nozzles. If you still want to do thrust factoring then you would definitely need to go to at least 10 channels. Regarding the two esc's they would work just fine because you would connect them ViA Y cable so it's still just requires the one channel also the plane comes with an external Bec given that you have two ESC running the plane.

@@ghoustanablethanks for sharing that info about the vectors!!! 👍🏼 maybe they are too narrow? Good to know :)

Greetings: I ordered my Mig 29 last week and can't wait for it to arrive. Question: When you fly, Do you use the same "C rating" on both 6s Batteries? Or can One battery be let's say 70C and the other 100C and still work fine? This aircraft has independent ESC"s right? so One battery for each ESC and Motor? Thanks.
@ghoustanable3 жыл бұрын
You could but I wouldn't just so that you have equal trust on both sides of the jet.

Did you fly with the fms edfs before opening the cheats? If so, when you did open them, was it a night and day difference or marginal?
@ghoustanable3 жыл бұрын
Did not fly with it before opening it however definitely a difference between the stock and FMS fans. About 1kg of more static thrust. That's said I definitely do not recommend installing the thrust vectoring modules it's not needed and it hurts performance. Cheers

What is the thrust you are getting out of those FMS fans

200g more per motor than the stock setup. Cheers

@@ghoustanable thanks for the quick response, as a guess then, 2.5kg each asking as building my own design airframe thinking I'll need 5-6kg total. So looking at 2x80mm on 6s, have room for 90's but really dont want the extra weight of going to 8s

Can you run 8s in it?
@ghoustanable2 жыл бұрын
Not on this setup but this plane doesn't need it. If you're looking for more power just run the FMS 36 mm 2000 KV full metal shrouded EDF and you can run it on 7s it would be a beast but again no need 6s with this Motors is more than enough power for this plane.
@ficosk89 күн бұрын
@@ghoustanableHi Gary and thank you very much for sharing all this infos. Why do you say the metal shroud would be finer (for cooling?) or do you mean that 3665 motor takes the extra current better?
@ghoustanable8 күн бұрын
@ficosk8 the edf has a built-in fan to cool the motor at the back as well the fan can take up to 7s. N9w with the metal body of the shroud it also acts sort of like a heat sink to keep your temperatures down as well.
