Insane terra predict there. Your logic makes sense but going for close combat on a +3 defense Hariyama just feels so wrong, I don't know if I would have been able to make the same play even if I suspected it.
@char1194
@char1194 Жыл бұрын
It's one of those plays that you can only make with prior knowledge of your opponent being a good player. I feel like Freezai could only be somewhat confident in his play because he was confident that his opponent knew what they were doing.

@@char1194 This comes up soooooo often, and actually lends to some "ELO Hell" ideas. With so much information and content on how to be a good player, but no experience, it can be a struggle to break through plateaus where no one plays like you are taught to expect them to play
@driftwisp2797
@driftwisp2797 Жыл бұрын
@@crendra11 Yeah, watching good players like Pokeaim actually say "Wait, this is low ladder, why am I predicting? I'm just gonna attack what's in front of me from now on" really shows how much you can get punished for playing "too well" against a weak opponent.
@char1194
@char1194 Жыл бұрын
@@crendra11 Late reply because i only just got notified for some reason. But there's actually a skill involved in reliably climbing out of elo hell. The concept of risk management, understanding your wincon and the worst case scenarios etc are all skillsets that arent just applicable to low elo, they're *especially* important in low elo

This video was super interesting! A lot of the times, videos like these are just unedited showdown gameplay which doesn't really keep some people very engaged but the fact that you went back and forth between it, Sc/Vio, and your own animations kept it really interesting! And you actually explaining your gameplan in-depth is great too! All around very solid content!

@BadCandyStudios

Scyther in particular is special because it actually has the same BST as its evos in 500, being way faster than both of em in exchange for offense and bulk. Of course, it’s still worse due to its bad typing, but that also makes it a prime Tera abuser.

I'm sure other channels have done this, or maybe you've already done this and I've just missed it, but I'd really love to see a video that discusses an overview of team building concepts. Reviewing the lingo, the basics of team building styles, how those different styles are piloted differently in comparison to the others, etc. It doesn't even need to be a single video either, it can be a whole new series of videos where you start with the rudimentary basics, but then progress to going into more detail throughout future videos, focusing on a particular play style with each new video. Like one week you're talking about hyper offensive team building style, then the next week you're reviewing all the variants of stall based teams, the hybrids, balanced cores, etc.

I think videos like this from freezai would be really cool and I'd love to hear his take on it, but if you're looking for something in the meantime, BKC has done a lot of videos about higher level concepts/team building before and has videos analyzing high profile battles; I don't think his style is for everyone because it's unscripted, but he knows what he's talking about and it has the same vibe as sitting in a college lecture.
