We do a costco rotisserie chicken day every 6 weeks with 5 chickens. It takes all day because we do stock as well, then reduce it right down and freeze it. I just made a whole heap of freezer meals for my friend/neighbour with cancer. She is getting her mastectomy on Thursday so her partner and her 11 yo will have super easy meals to cook. Her son is the result of over 12 years of fertility treatments so my friend has been through a lot. I'm not a Christian but my friend is and I'm sure she would appreciate any prayers.

It was so fun to watch you both do the broth together as my husband almost always is enlisted for our big batch broth making 😂 ive started to use a large liquid measure cup to move that much broth over at a time. Then when it gets closer to the end it isnt as heavy and wont splash as much. Often the big pile of stuff i just keep in the pot at that point too. Oh and the way your hubby came in for hugs reminded me of mine too, so sweet! Thanks for sharing!

For your kitchen, have you ever considered a kickstool, a tabouret-marchepied ... whatever? (Had to copy that from the dictionary ...) Those heavy duty stepping stools you will find in libraries? Round, hovering slightly above the floor for you to kick them to the right spot, then under weight they sink down to become a sturdy two-step stairway to your spices? In Germany they are also lovingly referred to as Elefantenfuss - Elephant's foot! 🐘

Tip: Soften the cream cheese leave it out extra long or toss in the microwave 10-15 seconds. Then mix spices and soft ingredients (sour cream, broth). Then fold in the meat, cheese and chunkier ingredients. This way the "sauce" is much easier to mix and spread. Tip #2: I also use Interfold Wax Paper Sheets. They are very cheap and saves dishes. I use them to rest "dirty" utensils on while food prepping. I use them to hold food that I'm chopping up. You can line your bowls with them and still use your bowl for storage, but won't dirty the bowl. You can wrap sandwiches in them. etc.

Good idea about the wax paper! And the cream cheese.

I remember the mushroom farm burning down - very close to home for us! And I also ALWAYS peel my mushrooms, and my mom always tells me that she doesn't know anyone else who does that. lol

I feel the short sister issue. Always two inches too short. I have the same stool for 20 years. It has a spot in my kitchen like the pots have a spot.

For those that don’t like touching chicken😂 you can soak butler soy curls in veg broth and then use a blender or mixer to shred same as chicken (cover around with a towel so it doesn’t fly everywhere). I’m going to try this with shredded jackfruit or tofu😊

OMG! I would have left the 3 or 4 without jalapenos. You are so funny! I need to fill my freezer with breakfast foods. I work Wed-Sun and never get to eat on the weekends. I need! breakfast on those days. Great video. Edited to add: I totally! get the tuna/shredded chicken thing. I do NOT like cooked tuna fish meals (canned). I can't eat canned chicken because it is too much like canned tuna. I'm trying though as I am the cook and my husband tries to eat meals he doesn't like. But MAN!

I'm the same way. There's something different about the feel of raw chicken as opposed to raw bacon. The feel of raw chicken makes me nauseous. 🤢 It's a bit of a sensory issue for me. My sister is the same way.

I always peel mushrooms before I cook them, my partner keeps telling me there’s no need to. I hate mushrooms and I only make them for him, it would be a lot easier if I didn’t peel them but I just can’t do it 😂😂
@FreezerMeals1015 ай бұрын
I recently saw a facebook post where someone asked if they rinsed their mushrooms. It was mostly 50/50 if they did or didn't, but there was a small collection of us that agreed that peeling was the way to go. I also have to peel them! Luckily, I love them, so it's not as much of a sacrifice. haha You're a good person to do that for your partner!

My heart died a little when you threw the chicken bones into the garbage can. I set those aside, cool, and then pick out the good chicken to add to my soup. And girl, you left way too much meat on the bones.
@FreezerMeals1015 ай бұрын
While it's probably best to make the chicken stock and pick them absolutely clean, that is sometimes a lot more work than someone can muster. We've definitely done it in past videos but it's also ok to do as much as you can do and not feel guilty about the bones in the garbage once in a while. We try our best to show real life. Sometimes we make the chicken stock and sometimes we don't. Both ways are ok. There is room for every kind of home cook on our channel. Sorry your heart died a little but I'm sure you understand.
