Sir, if your big pod okra is tough scrape the seeds out and add them to soups and such. If okra is tough in my garden I break it open and eat the raw fresh seeds. They taste really good.

Armadillo attacks here in Louisiana had me wondering if anything would survive and I wasn`t prepared for a situation like that so I over-planted. He killed most of my Texas Hill Country. So I decided to buy three driveway alarms and two of those devices that launch 177 and 22 lead projectiles. I had planned on getting them later this year anyway to get small game on my new rural lot. Well I decided to count my crazy okra patch and stopped counting when I reached nearly 70 plants and many of them are just getting large enough to bloom. I was determined to have Texas Hill Country okra so a lot of that is still too small to even count. I`m on a fixed income with no car so I have to order everything so I get seeds I can save more from for next year to avoid paying so much again. I`m gonna get a couple of rolls of 2 ft chicken wire to build barriers I can move and expand because my soil is shallow and is very very hard red clay mixed with gravel just inches down. Not even attempting a fence in that because I used to build fences in Texas and know what I`m up against. So I decided to go ahead and get the prepping tools I need here to provide food. I have some physical problems and have to be careful or I can put myself out of commission.

I made dehydrated okra with mine. Sort of turned them into okra chips. They were really good.
