Hello Brandon, recently found your KZbin page and have been obsessed since. New to the freight brokerage/agent scene. Do you have any videos staging a call to a shipper and closing the deal.. I don’t know the questions to ask and what I need to know in order to move the load. Thank you in advance.

You stated e Freight Solutions as your crm. I have not been able to find it I came across some Asian Cambodia thing that sets up Freight by many means. And then when I filled out the info it said it had problems

I’m going straight into that TMS SYSTEM THANKS FOR SHARING. That’s the type of system that does all the work for me. You said $500 a month? One more question Brandon so are those LTL carriers automatically built into Tai system once you input your customer into the create a rate???

Great video. Thanks for the info. How do I get access to the carriers on the quoting section of this TMS? Do I need pre existing relationships with these carriers ( EX: UPS, FEDEX, etc...) or does this TMS have them available for its users?

you'll have access to LTL Carriers via broker tarrifs...no relationship required...

@@dpatrick813 - not at all a load board. You become an independent agent for a large 3PL. You sign up and basically you're running your own business. They give you access to their TMS system and you piggy back off "XYZ 3PL". It's your job to go out there and get customers. You're selling a service as a 3PL, offering better discounts because the 3PL does so much volume they have killer carrier contracts.

@@dpatrick813 - absolutely big man. I love being my own boss working under an umbrella of a large 3PL. The contracts are already done for you and you don't have to worry about billing, they handle it for you. Depending on the 3PL you can earn a 65% split of the margin.

As a LTL shipper, my freight costs are right off the top I shop lanes with FQ and WWE and UNI..and have seen better quotes with WWE. lately.. How can I get the very best rates?.. Can I get the same pricing as the brokers? I ship multi pallet LTL every week and some TL.. How can I improve my LTL bottom line? Good video to see how it works on the brokers side...

What I’m seeing in videos is kinda discouraging. What do you offer as a new agent when you don’t have that network or how do you build the network quickly? The more I see I just can’t see what a new agent brings that will get them shippers.

FTL is all spot quotes, you would need an account with DAT and/or Truckstop. TMS handles all LTL - hope this helps.

if you're going to come straight out the gate with the attitude I'm going to kick azz and take names and I'm going to USE the system to get the most out of it AND YOU CAN AFFORD IT?? I'd recommend...IF NOT I WOULD NOT....Affording it IMO is how many loads do I need to move to pay for it....wish you the best!

Brandon is right that you don't want to be the cheapest broker. However there are too many brokers out there doing just that...offering dirt cheap rates. You're now competing with these knuckleheads working on minimums. Depending if you're doing a lot of hand holding with your customer you don't want to work for pennies. Any TMS system allows you to work up a margin from 10% to 30% and also minimum markups. Many times the cheapest rates go with budget carriers and they are many cases the culprit of you the broker losing a valued customer. So be warned you get what you pay for! You as the broker need to educate your customer on this fact. However that being said you'll learn that many ops managers, business owners are under pressure to get the lowest freight rates possible. Your #1 responsibility is to get out there and get customers.

You can quote an LTL shipment, book the shipment and print out a BOL. Also most TMS systems have EDI so that load get electronically dispatched for you.

@@dtermnedone4872 - there are so many such as Freight Quote, UniShippers, World Wide Express etc. To be 100% perfectly honest 3pl's and freight brokers are a dime a dozen. That's something you'll soon learn in this industry. The only way to separate yourself is the customer service you provide...that's the key to success in the freight world.

@@dpatrick813 Yes , post covid they are telling me because i am a start up company ; however the summer of COVID-19, I was quoted a $1,900.00 dollar down payment; When I called the company back in December of 2020 , to get things up and running they said I needed $12,500.00 dollars

issues with the trucking is the goverment has to many regulations. that feed the polititions pockets. fuel prices go up and rates do not or go down. your tax at the pump and taxed for every mile in every state on top. break downs. mechanics milk carriers for every dime,

I'm a owner operator and these brokers are low balling like a mf. There has never been a shortage in truckers if a person is saying that that's because they don't want to pay the price for the driver. As a owner operator there is nothing cheap about running a truck. One tire is $ 600 people and that's about the cheapest thing on the truck.
