The DT12 is an automated transmission. Automatics have torque converters and clutch packs. Automated transmissions have the same stuff as a standard but a computer does the shifting and there is a push type clutch instead of a pull so an actuator can do the clutching.

@@Hellokinnifor me it happened today 🤦‍♂️. 806k on the truck. Had to pay $950 for towing. When I brought it to the shop mechanic said we can’t fix it since it’s automatic. I called to the shop before I towed. The only thing guy said in the office “ I apologize, I didn’t know that we can’t fix automatic transmissions”. So I lost $950 for nothing

@@vladislavhusnutdinov1523 The shop replaced clutch on mine and also the shifting mechanism. Said it was seized but as far as I know it was shifting just fine. Oh well but they didn't do the calibration using the computer. The shifting was rough. I guess the ecu has learned and has adjusted but still sometimes in gear 7/8/9 it's not smooth shifting sometimes.

My clutch failed on me today. I think I’m lucky that it happened 8 miles away from a dealership. Tow bill was still expensive. Without warning it shot itself at 860k. i knew, i wanted this job done sometime this year but it beat me to the punch.

clutch, clutch actuator, flywheel, rear motor mounts, rear main seal, dt12 split pin, carrier bearing, pilot bearing, etc,... some are more important than others but all of this is recommended to replace during a clutch job.

Tengo una pregunta, yo tengo un camión automático, y todos los cambios suben bien, pero cuando bajo la velocidad se qeda en el cambio 6 aunqe el camion se aiga parado, y aveces baja en el cambio 5 pero se queda acelerado un poco y baja los cambios,, tienes alguna idea sobre ese problema, gracias

Will diagnostic link let you apply clutch without vehicle in motion ? Is there test you can do with diagnostic link without pulling out transmission ?

yes, you go to actions and transmission. you can do clutch learn if you what to calibrate the clutch or if you want to test the clutch functions go to Detroit transmission clutch center i think is its name. you can test the clutch journey and response.

great video! I've heard these Eaton clutches have problems when calibrated after installation. Have you had problems with Eaton clutches especially on dt12 tranny?

so far no problems. I used generic brand the other day and no problems as well. the duration of the these aftermarket clutches can't be as good as the oem, but, when you see the prices of the oem clutches you wanna go straight to aftermarket regardless the quality.

saludos francisco,una pregunta , estas dt 12 son selladas o sea no hay forma de checar el nivel de aceite?? nadie sabe si el aceite de la transmision se cambia ?? le pregunto a mucha gente y nadie sabe decirme, me dijeron que el delear tiene un sistema para cambiarlo con un vacum o algo asi , que se debe cambiar cada 500 k millas , pero en verdad nadie tiene una respuesta ,gracias por tus videos.un abrazo.

Si se cambia. En la pagina de detroit busca una section de maintenance de transmission. Alli te dice cual bolt sacar para revisar y el Que tienes Que sacar para drain el aceite usado.

Se cambia a las 500.000 millas en el dealer , yo lo quise hacer en un taller de un amigo y me recomendaron que no lo cambie por que han fallado muchas transmisiones después del cambio ya tengo 790.000 millas y está todo bien por ahora
