Andy Phillip it hit my confidence a little with it been on a green run. My teeth have only just recovered from it. The front ones were all loose as it turned out I had fractured my jaw just under my teeth. Was my 1st time there. Loved it. Just booked for this year. 1st week in July 👊

I have a 3D printer that can print hard rubber, similar to that of a skateboard wheel. If you would like a GoPro mount/housing printed, fashion it in wood and send it over. I’ll 3D model it and print it. Could be a softer impact than present.

Physically I’m back to normal now. Although I have a Harry Potter shaped scar on my chin⚡️ 😂 But mentally it still effects me. I don’t push as hard as I used to. I think in the alps easy green runs are the most dangerous. As experienced bikes go faster. Thanks for asking how I’m doing 😁

Trail-Finder that’s good to hear man I’ve only just got into cycling with the world famous pandemic going round but I guess it’s true what they say about clouds with silver linings. You lived to tell the tale only to get back back on the journey with caution and a stronger humbled spirit, which is the main thing. I guess you can wear the scar like a badge of honour to remind you of what could have been and that no matter how much we like to think we’re in control there’s a higher power keeping us in check and humbled. Keep it up man your deffo an inspiration to a lot of us out there! Respect from West Yorkshire✌🏽

That was a fantastic ride beautiful trials and so shocked to see you come off at the end hope you recover quickly you will have to go into more detail of how you have your camera attached to your helmet because this is getting a very popular thing to do and I am also looking at doing it. So any information that you share will help others make better decisions for better attachments to make the cameras hope you didn't miss too much riding after your accident. Been watching all of these amazing European videos that you've been putting out recently. Hope you get back in the saddle soon. Take care buddy.

RHP Mountain & Trail just missed one days riding. Back on the bike this weekend. Was asking for trouble with camera set up. It was mounted at the top with an extension running down the front. My new helmet the mount is at the bottom with the camera attached straight to it. Any slight knock and this set up will snap straight off. Gone fox Proframe this time. As there is a nice flat spot at the bottom for a mount

That’s a great vid and a sobering ending. Hope all is well now Andy. I know the area well from Snowboarding, but not on a MTB yet. Was the GoPro chin mounted? Just goes to show the value of full face helmets though. It’s odd that they seem to carry an “uncool” stigma in MTB. I can see that knocking your confidence. Great content and channel Andy 👍🏼

Yes I can see why it came off the kitty litter in the bottom of the berm. it's all very good saying that in hindsight that you should've took the higher line. I've had a similar thing happened to me and caused me to have benign positional vertigo for a year and a half not fun.
@thebikedude98924 жыл бұрын
i have a question, do you think your injury would have been less worse or even none, if you had mounted your gopro somewhere else? I have mine underneeth my sunvisor but i was considering a chin mount.
@TrailFinder4 жыл бұрын
If I was not wearing the camera. The accident would have been ok. But It was the way I had it mounted that was the problem. The camera had nowhere to go apart from through the chin guard and into my chin. It’s now attached a different way and would snap off instantly during a crash.

@TrailFinder5 жыл бұрын
Mark Saunders full on face plant mark. I’m a lot better now as the crash was 3 weeks ago. I had a Troy Lee stage helmet and the mount was at the top of the chin piece. Which turned out to be very bad for me. I’ve now got a Fox Proframe and it is now at the bottom. It will snap off instantly if I crash again. Lakedistrictrider not a fan of chest mount. I have a new helmet and mount now which will snap instantly in the event of a crash. It nearly snaps off when I take the camera in and out of the housing.
