I once recieved a letter from someone in Florida (I joined Postcrossing, sending letters to strangers, there's only a one-time-contact.) The card was absolutely *covered* in USA-stickers, flag-stickers and USA-flag-stamps. The front was a big, cartoon map of Florida. The card said; "Howdy, my name's Faith. I'm from Florida. I'm a stay at home mom, my son plays for the (basketball team) and he might join the (baskeballteam) next year. I love my family, my friends and my freedom. We have 2 dogs. Hugs and kisses, XOXO, Faith." None of this bothered me. But then I saw that she'd written my address wrong on the card. Instead of "Emma in the Netherlands" she'd written to "Emma in the Neanderth-lands." I am, probably correctly, assuming she thought I came from the land of Neanderthals. I mean...I have no words.

Or at least, whenever I watch a video where a woman stole an alpaca, only wearing a ballerina-tutu and an inside-out-coconut-bikini, with an apple-pie on her head, the vlog-presenters usually mumble; 'And this of course... happened in Florida."

Touching endangered species is actually illegal so there is technically something wrong with putting a hat on a manatee - a person who totally never touched a manatee the manatee was the one to touch me I swear No but for real. So be careful around manatees for both your sake and theirs as an endangered species

Floridian here. Pretty sure it’s illegal to intentionally touch a manatee. If you’re snorkeling in Blue Springs or somewhere and one bumps up against you, that’s fine, but you’re not supposed to go out of your way to touch them. That being said, I’m not sure how you can prove in court that the manatee touched you and not the other way around, but I have a feeling that law isn’t super enforced anyway.

I'm from Tampa and this reminds me of when I picked up my British boyfriend at the time from the airport in a green pickup truck and for dinner we stopped by a Subway in a Racetrack gas station (because it was late and it was all that was opened). I, ever the romantic,, also took him to Sam's Club and Chili's for good measure, for the FULL experience. He took his senior trip to France. Mine was Disney (grad nite), and people were mad that Pitbull canceled. I'm somewhere between a cringe and a laugh right now. Well done, A+ accuracy.

The french parts are very google-translate-y, and it makes him a hundred times funnier if you speak French x)
I have several foreign friends I know online, and every single one of them I’ve ever seen actually take a trip to the U.S has been extremely disappointed and surprised to find out how boring and shit our cities actually are.
