This case shows just how disregarded women are by medical professionals. All the neurological symptoms she was having over the years, the declining quality of life, signs of SA, STDs - and all her doctors, neurologists and gynecologists kept writing it off as stress? If it were one doctor, I would call it individual incompetency, but that many - that's just systemic medical misogyny. They all should be ashamed of themselves.

Same in the US tho. Doctors won’t give us pain meds like they do men, they disregard our symptoms, they don’t allow us freedom of choice, they aren’t educated on women’s health, all drug trials were on men only into the modern age so we don’t even know how they actually work on women and they definitely don’t care about any reproductive health care!😢

As an optimist I'd hope this is more of a sign that no medical professional could even comprehend such a horrible, vile & cruel crime as a possibility rather than a more "mundane" explaination like illness or stress. (And the STDs at least weren't known before this came out which is the only thing which could only have a sexual explanation) However the sad reality is that these aren't just possibilities but things that DO happen, they become fathomable and must be checked. Medical professionals can't be naively opptimistic, they need to be educated about cases like this.

Not only that but they never spoke to her. She didn't ever tell any one of them personally she was okay with it. If it's just a consensual kink then you have everyone's expressed consent. They never got hers. She's unconscious, if you "have sex with" an unconscious person, it's rape. Simple. End of. The only exception is when the person has full rights to rescind consent at any point whatsoever, and while fully with it and mentally stabl, under zero coercion, zero influence of any kind, has given explicit consent, and only consenting parties are involved, and consent is excruciatingly clear and not even remotely influenced by others, drugs, alcohol, or natural drugs. If someone's unconscious, you know what you're doing to them is wrong. Thinking men own women is a whole entire level of despicable that continuously gets more and more uncovered by society as time goes on. People still think that way. Men still talk about women that way to their buddies. And it's insane.

Exactly. There is something extremely wrong, because no woman who goes to the doctor excessively because she's having so much discomfort and issues is going to dismiss any attempt by her doctor to get tested and find out what's impacting her so badly. Someone tried to argue that she'd have denied testing, when she literally said she requested help, diagnostics, and treatment countless times. There's also yearly tests where women have the inside of our vaginas and cervix examined, so they would have seen discharge, redness, etc. For her cervix to be that inflamed, something was wrong with her visits, because they'd have seen that too. STDs that give you an inflamed cervix aren't just going to randomly inflame it some day, it's going to be inflamed much sooner, there would've been plenty of signs physically that would have to be ignored, and someone who wants diagnostics and treatment isn't likely to refuse testing and treatment. They went to you, to find out what's wrong and get help. 🤦🏽♂️

@@KLTer-jo9jy My friends used to called me “crazy” because I investigate any new man that would come into my life especially before I met my husband when I was single. Like I have a system (I live in the US): I first check for any marriage records, custody arrangements, permanent / long term restraining orders. Then I’ll make sure to check whether he is actually employed where he said he is. Crosscheck his name against the Megan’s list. And checked Zillow to make sure the house he’s residing is actually under his name as he claims and some history. And having grown up with boys, and having guy best friends, there was this one thing I snooped on him based on my guy friends’ advice and it was non-negotiable: His 🌽 preference, frequency, and whether or not he pays for material and how much/ how often does he pay. I used to be against this, I thought it was TOO personal, but it was my GUY FRIENDS that were adamant that I find out because it could reveal to me A LOT about a man, and whether or not I’ll be safe and be able to raise children with this man. Then I ignored the red flags once, the guy turned out to be an ab*sive POS. And when I met my now-husband, he passed all the checks, and he was not upset at all (unlike most men I’ve dated that would turn it around on me) and he said he understands that I was worried about my safety and he has a younger sister so he gets it. I wish someday I’d have the energy, the time and grow the balls to start advocating online for women to perform basic safety checks on men. Especially for single mothers to perform checks on new men to protect them and their children from predators. In most States in America, as long as you know where to look, plenty of information are public records and they are public records for a reason! I want to look into hidden cameras and see how ethical it is, and look into risk v rewards and I would love to come back and let you know about what I find out/ concluded ❤️

a few additional things i’d like to talk about: - the reason the girls who were being filmed under the skirt by dominique pélicot reported the event is thanks to a security agent. the video of him filming under the skirts has been published by Paris Match and in it, you can hear the security agent say: “your phone takes good shots! (to dominique pélicot). he was filming under your dress!” (to one of the girls, who then responds “no, no, no” (she did not believe he was doing that at this point). the agent responded by saying “yeah, yeah, yeah, are you going to file a complaint? he was filming under your dress, the phone like that, just now. are you going file a complaint?” (his tone suggests he is pressuring them to confirm they will do so). we can then hear someone in the agent’s walkie-talkie say “that makes four clients”, as in female clients that had been filmed, yet in the video he was “only” recording two girls, the other ones were filmed a few minutes before he was caught. one of the girls who was being filmed said “is that true?”, in disbelief, and the agent continued talking, saying “i’m not here to have fun, we’ve been following him with the camera, he’s done that four times! go on, (he said “allez” which is a french interjection that, in this context, is basically a threat meaning he doesn’t want to see dominique pélicot any additional second in the supermarket) police! to the police, now!” (dominique pélicot then tries to move). the agent tells him “you’re staying here, you! you’re not going anywhere.” to one of the girls again: “madame, i’m counting on you to sue him. he was filming under your dress. go on, to the police! you’re calling them right now for me! and the other clients? (the other women that had been filmed) fuck, we should’ve gone and found them. there are three others.” to dominique pélicot again: “you’re a disgusting pig, you, really. yeah, you’re a disgusting pig! (pause) you’re in luck, i swear, had it been my mother, i would’ve ripped your head off. we’re going to wait for them (the police) in the arraignment room.” (he then takes the phone away from dominique pélicot and talks to the girls). “madame, how are we going to proceed now? i’m going to let you finish grocery shopping, i’m taking your contact details and i’ll call you back as soon as the police are here so you can file a complaint. because right now you must go on with the procedure until the end. this type of behaviour, it’s… (he sighs). he wasn’t able to delete the videos, i took his phone away. yes, it’s the third time that he does that with these women” (to the person in the walkie-talkie). a big THANK YOU to this security agent. he acted the exact right way and is the reason everything was uncovered. (source: Paris Match) - dominique pélicot said that out of every man he talked to on the platform he organised the r@pes, about 7 out of 10 agreed to r@pe Gisèle, while about 3 out of 10 refused to. but NONE of them reported what was happening to the police. NONE. (sources: contre-attaque, libération) - Coraline, Gisèle’s daughter, said that according to professionals, Gisèle would have died in 2021 from the drugging if nothing had been uncovered and dominique pélicot had kept drugging and abusing her with the same dosing and frequency. (source: Caroline in Ça commence aujourd’hui, video is available on Ça commence aujourd’hui’s youtube channel under the title “Procès de Mazan: le “père” de Caroline a drogué sa mère pendant 10 ans pour la livrer à des hommes”) - one of Gisèle’s r@pist, Joan K., r@ped her the day his daughter was born. (source: La Provence) - dominique pélicot stated during the trial: “i’m a r@pist just like the other ones in this room. they all knew, they can’t contradict that.” (source: AFP) edit: added some sources, corrected the translation of the video of the security agent catching dominique pélicot, and added the last point.

Shame has to change side. Second, and this is my main point: as a french activist said, this is not simply a terrible story, this is also a sociological case of "banality of evil", illustrating how any man, father, doctor, firefighter, young or old etc, has the potential to be a rapist under specific circumstances, as that's what society lead them to be through patriarchy and r*pe culture. All men should question themselves on how different they truly are from these 51 men, and look deep into the social constructs they have internalized and which could be part of the same mechanisms as the ones which led these men to commit the unthinkable horror. @@mrod87 Wow I think you are mixing everything up. France has A LOT of bad history with sex and a lot of western Europe has it. I would say it’s because of the patriarchy, religion and racism. Yet the Olympics cérémonie has nothing to do with it : Bacchus is a mythical figure associated mostly with partying and wine. We use it a lot, especially in arts, but not for celebrating sex.

@@PaggyM You stray away from religion everyday. What religion are you talking about because I don't see Christians, I only see Muslims in your country practising their religion. You make mockery of the Last supper at the Olympics and when you receive backlash, you pretend its something else entirely. Your country is finished. Your culture is slowly being replaced.

@@mrod87 R*pe is hardly just a "wild" sexual practice. It's an assault. It's an outright crime. Let's not make excuses for them, unless you are just like them.

Thank you for your presentation of this case. It is beyond horrific and you are giving it the emotional dignity it deserves. Thank you for NOT using a horrible AI generated narrator. Your delivery shares the pain and horror these victims have endured and hopefully more people will hear and rise up to fight for justice!
