I come from a place in France famous for no accent. And I kinda agree in this video. The French girls have a little cute accent in her voice that I can't rely localised and the Swiss don't have (at least for the few word we heard) the typical Swiss accent. But they are all cute at the end.

I’m American but I have never heard anyone pronounce the T in Saint for the brand. I had never heard of the brand Jacquemus before this channel but most Americans where I am from pronounce the name Jacques like Jock so I think that would be their first assumption. That being said I met a lady where I live now in the Midwest whose daughter’s name is Jacque and I read it at first as Jock only to find out her name is pronounced like Jackie. So I think some Americans might pronounce it like Jah kee.

I'm so American I've never even heard of Givenchy or Jacquemus. I only know Hermes as the messenger of the Greek gods. The other words have some parts that are also English words (Saint, Christian), so we tend to say those the American way, and then make a half-ass attempt at saying the other part in a pseudo-French way, which usually results in French people being very upset and asking for the Statue of Liberty back.

Yes, I am French and I agree with that. There is no point here because all the people in the video use the same French with different accents on the sentences only, except for the poor American girl. I don't really like the way this French girl talks about her accent. She was all alone and it looked like she was being made fun of during the entire video. Not very nice. Maybe people don't see it but... it's a common thing in France. Making Americans look stupid when they try to pronounce French words. I do not like it.

As a French person, I am very surprised to learn that French seems so chic to other countries because French is basically a "boring" language when you pronounce it. We don't have any accentuation so when I hear English or Americans speaking with their round or drawling accent, I find it sexy or sophisticated. Italian is really classy for us to hear and Asian languages or Russian are really very exotic for us. French looks fancy but it is very "flat" compared to Spanish which is really very close but punctuated with pretty accents.

All of the words emphasize either R or L. All non-english speakers have a harder time with R and L because we don't use a glottal stop or roll R, and L is basically the exact same tongue placement and mouth shape with only a very tiny change in tongue placement. That is why Asians often switch the R and L, because they learn the same sound for both and it's confusing. All words with R or L sounds will always sound different in American accented english.

Journey ?)

I know this is meant to show more awareness about how brand names in French are correctly pronounced, but the French girl herself sounds as if she’s mocking or being sarcastic when she corrects the American girl. Also, may I add, they should have added, for instance, South Americans or Asians too to show more range. The content you guys had where an American was the lead and different Asians translated American words to their language was genuinely more fun and everyone was more receptive towards their differences.
