La-roche Posay is my FAVORITE pharmacy brand! Effaclar duo is my skin savior! And cicaplast b5 is the best moisturizer I've EVER used! I want to buy every single la roche posay product cause they are effective and the price is reasonable! I am also a serum junkie! Yet I've tried only two (l'oreal skin perfection, lancome visionnaire and I think that skin perfection is a cheaper version of visionnaire and it's wonderful!)

For those of you who want to find a pharmacy in Paris with a wide range of brands, there is the pharmacy section in the Monoprix next to Blanche station (near the Moulin Rouge). It's small but amazing the amount of products and brands they have fit in! It is almost like they put a real french pharmacy in the middle of the supermarket! Thank you Lisa for this video. I could listen to you all day!

This is an older video but one which I welcome; between Lisa Eldridge and Justine Leconte i get the best possible advice. I was on a teaching exchange at the Sorbonne, also in the early '90s, lived there for about 3 years. One must adapt to Parisian culture, which like New York, Berlin, Venice are islands in their own way. There is a ceremony when entering a shop; you acknowledge each other and if your accent is acceptable then the conversation will continue in French. The French are very direct, all of them, I was addicted to the Table Ronde, a television series called Apostrophes hosted by Bernard Pivot where everyone spoke at the same time; had to relearn my manners when returning to an anglophone environment. As in Italy if you are trying something on in a shop the salesperson will follow you into the dressing room, not because of distrust but to see if the garment fits etc. So it's a kind of civility. The French are very different from, say the US; they spend a lot of money on skin care and also go to great lengths to appear as if they're not wearing makeup, which can be a formidable task. Very fond memories and life-long friends; hope someone happens on this wonderful video and takes a chance! By contrast, my time in Lausanne involved almost exclusively ex-patriots from somewhere or other, but there the walk around Lac Geneve which could easily last a day was enchanting. Thank you Lisa!

I'm nearly 48 with super sensitive skin prone to breakouts and an oily T Zone La Roche Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel works wonders as a face wash (I've tried a few) also Bioderma Sebium Mat Tinted Anti Shine Fluid is a fantastic tinted moisturiser. Even the in-store pharmacies at the local Hyper Markets here in France hold a fantastic range and usualy stock most of what you've mentioned but you can't beat browsing the high street ones they are the best.

Only went one time into a pharmacy at CC Temps in Paris and was overwhelmed by the variety of skin care brands. And they don't mind you browsing around. Loved it! Next time time I'm there I'll stock up with some things, compared to Germany most things also cost at lot less.

la roche posay's rosaliac cream is the absolute best face cream i've found for my pale, reactive (acne- AND eczema-prone) skin. i bought it on a whim from CVS here in the US, and i'll never go back. i cut it with a cheaper moisturizer (aveeno ultra calming) to make it last longer, but it's truly "saved" my face. glad to hear similar recommendations from someone who uses it (i hesitate to try new things because i have so many fragrance allergies). THANKS for the tips!

The City-Pharma pharmacie in St Germain des Prés is really good. I'm a Parisian girl and I go there to buy every single of my products, and plus they sell them cheaper than any ordinary pharmacie ! But I know another one which is reaaaally cheap. It's called "Pharmacie Treignier", and is at 92-94 Boulevard Lefebvre, in the 15th arrondissement. They always do a lot of promotions on a lot of products :) ! Kisses from Paris !

They are called Miliums (a small white or yellowish nodule resembling a millet seed, produced in the skin by the retention of sebaceous secretion) and are typical for people with gentle, pale or light skin tones. You have to go to a cosmetician to have them removed. First they let your pores open, usually with steam and then take them out with a special needle. It's not very pleasant, but it works ;)

forgot, sorry, to address the products evaluated; in 2019 La Roche Posey and Avene (vr lazy leaving off accents) are available in Canada everywhere; affordable and I find good for every skin type that is sensitive. Some products by Avene smell a little like oranges but a lot of products are unscented; especially good for people with a tendency to flushing or redness. Also a retinol which is very effective. Wonderful fount of information!

Thanks for this. I totally agree with you and the good quality of the French products for skin care. They are a little bit pricey but are 100% effective. Personally, La Roche-Posay works perfect for my rosacea. I use 2 specific products, Rosaliac UV legere for my daily moisturize routine. And the second one, it's Rosaliac AR intense, when my rosacea is really bad and the redness is intense, so I apply this one only in the affected area.
