Never put your garlic in with your onions at the same time, wait to add garlic till onions are wilted.

French style peas from an Englishman. The only thing I know about the provenance is to be suspicious.

I still am astounded that people in the UK would make a choice to eat frozen or tinned peas. Fresh ones are seldom available due to our much warmer climate, only for brief periods. I usually grow my own in order to get a few pickings before it is too warm. But the frozen or tinned ones do not even faintly resemble the taste or quality of fresh, and I’d rather my fingernails were pulled out than eat them. You guys are a puzzlement, but then again, you guys boil your roasts, so I guess it figures.

I once met arguably the most famous Irish celebrity chef in a supermarket and in his basket he had a variety of frozen vegetables. If it’s good enough for a Michelin-starred chef then it’s good enough for me 🤷♂️ Not saying frozen veg is superior to fresh but in terms of convenience it’s infinitely better.

Sean Briggs This is precisely why, in the culinary world radar map, the UK’s many styles only seldom make a blip.

That’s like me saying America is only good for burgers! Please don’t cast aspersions on UK cuisine unless you have actually travelled around and experienced it first hand. Considering the UK is smaller than the state of Oregon, I would suggest that the variety and quality of cuisine is far greater than all fifty states combined!

Sean Briggs Only been once. We’re a melting pot, and as such have a myriad of styles respected around the world - from Cajun, Tex-Mex, various regional Barbecue, seafood heavy styles rooted in Ne England, California, Florida., Italian styles that visitors will come back for over and over. The list never ends ends. British ex-pats, on the other hand, do not even prefer their on culinary traditions, once the’ve tasted and grown accustomed to good, fresh foods off their own island. In fact, most of our British friends speak pretty disparagingly of the foods they ate making their occasional visits home. The food. plus the weather, they’re always happy to leave behind. You guys don’t even roast a roast, you boil it. In the very few videos I watch, anything beyond salt and pepper seems to be considered exotic. I ill look up videos on specific dishes, and for u, it has been hit or miss as to whether we’ve enjoyed them. By and large, tho ugh, your food traditions are among the most bland and boring, right up there with Canadian Maritime Province styles.

I don’t disagree that the US is a melting pot, but you’re comparing it with a country that’s forty times smaller and will, as a result, have significantly fewer cooking styles that influence today’s cuisine. British food may be bland to you since you’ve grown up with bold flavours (don’t forget your American mustard originated from the English recipe - you’re welcome) but when you have amazing local produce as we do in Britain there is no need to supplement with bold flavours which often take away from the quality and flavour of the main ingredient. Sometimes you can just let the ingredients do the talking, much in the way you would with a quality ribeye steak. I can see that we aren’t going to agree on this but I would suggest you should conduct some up-to-date research yourself rather than relying on the opinion of others. I’m not saying British food is better than American, I enjoy both styles as well as many other ways of cooking but please don’t make sweeping statements when your opinion is outdated and based on the opinions of others.

Everything is wrong about this dish , even when he named the dish in french it was atrociously wrong. If you do not know your french grammar and conjugation, it would be better to avoid trying to speak in french , it was so embarrassing !!!
