I really enjoyed and benefited from learning about your ‘process’ and ‘guiding principals’. The spaces that you design calm my mind and fill my soul. My 6 year old granddaughter who lives with me said only this week , "why don't you use your study " . I now know why after watching your video. It is 4am in the morning here in Australia but as soon as the sun comes up and I get out of bed I will be in there sorting and throwing out what I don't need. Shopping for baskets will also be on my list. Thank you

This was such a helpful video-I found myself following your thought processes deeply, moving past my own resistance of how my home office should be. I, too, take my office things to the dining room table-do not like the feeling in my office. I’ll have to watch it again, because there were just flashes of ideas for me, including moving a big old mahogany Secretary that belonged to my Mother, out of there-moving it on to someone who might appreciate it. And then I thought I couldn’t-and that’s where it stands now. BUT, you made a spark!! Thank you for your thoughtful discussion.

May I make a suggestion. Think of drawers for your storage. Cupboards - especially low cupboards are hard to access. You have to bend down or sit on the floor to put items in and out. Pull out drawers are sooooo much easier and ergonomic.

So curious to see what it will be like in real life soon marloes. There should be an office here too someday but no idea yet where and when. I suspect when we have made extra children's rooms upstairs that I can convert one of the rooms downstairs into an office.

Great video, I love hearing about your process. The journey and all the learning that goes along is just as important to me as the finished project. I am in the process of putting my home back together after packing everything away so I could do a light Reno and sell my home. In the end it is not the right time for me to sell so i have spent the last 8 month putting it back together. I have given myself time to go through each box and donate, I am living now with half of what I had before and I it is wonderful. I am keeping only what I most love and use. It has not been easy letting go but my spaces are brighter, my mind is clearer and my creativity has rebounded . Thank you for your continued inspiration. I am going to think about my office differently now. It looks nice but i never want to be in it. I know what to do now. THANK YOU !!!!! ❤

I already have to go upstairs to do that now! It doesn’t bother me. I don’t want them in my personal living spaces and they need to be in a place that is not humid to keep them fresh. By the way, we had five floors in our house in the Netherlands 😉 walking stairs keeps me fit as I hate working out 😂

Will you get enough natural light up there in the attic? Is there a reason you are not using the downstairs for your office and up stairs for storage etc. I think of attics as dark spaces and fine to sleep in even though one can switch on lights

There will be a big skylight. Our current upstairs bedrooms have more light than our downstairs so I intentionally make my office upstairs!

We put them against the walls because that's where the plugs are... that is if you don't want to stop what you're doing because you have to go recharge your laptop. 🙃
