As for the military stuff people shouldn't be asking you. I have several veteran friends and they have told me how much they loath questions about their service. Out of all the gun channels out there (I followed a lot and gave up on most after a while) this one has had the least subscribers and the term "like and subscribe" was only used once (that I heard of and I watched almost all of the videos Paul published). Since you asked for a comment, I will give you one. What I like about your videos would take too long to type, and few people would read. I would like to address one thing I do like. Too many channels confuse personal self defense with combat scenarios. They deride peoples choice of weapons and caliber sizes. When you stated that sometimes you carry a 25 as your ccw I knew I had found a channel I could trust and enjoy. Not that I think a 25 acp is ideal but the fact that you are not so full of yourself that you were willing to admit that on some occasions the 25 was all you could carry. To put this in context under no scenario could I imagine a "James Yeager" type channel making this statement. You are honest, concise, and interesting.

tyler williams no, I wouldn't consider him a badass. Dangerous, true, and very competent. But not a badass. He simply doesn't have the drive to out do other people that badasses need. Having said that I was looking for a thread that would let me put down what I like about the channel/him. I don't really need to know about his past because he is clearly very competent and knowledgeable. It is clear that he knows what he is talking about because he is not trying to support all his points on the crutch of his past accomplishments. You know he is confident in his experience, because he invites you to make your own decision, and he never really tells you what to believe, probably be cause he knows that he is right, and he has been around enough to know that there are few absolutes, and that your milage will vary.

Infandous Ktenology well you would loose that bet even faster than you failed to catch my point. Rather than belabor the point, I will tell you that when you realize that you have met someone similar to Mr Harrell, you can ask them why they don't like being called a badass, and why they don't consider themselves one. If you ever meet someone LIKE Mr Harrell, you will probably be quite surprised how hard they work to avoid the title. After getting to know that man, if you watch this video again, you will quickly realize that the last thing that you want in the comment section of any of his videos, but this one in particular, is a bunch of rabid fan girls raving about how 'badass' he is. However credit where credit is due; I didn't even know I had playlists. Would you say the videos might belong to a nephew or a niece? Because normally I wouldn't care about the opinions of someone who has the kind of time to find and then watch random people's playlists. But apparently there is something called a bronie, and don't get me wrong, compared to other things that an eight year old girl will try to get you to watch it is not that painful... But I draw the line at looking like a bronie, which they both tell me is a real thing these days....

From the Canadian east coast, many thanks for an excellent channel. I enjoy the straightforward, easy going delivery and the lack of macho flimflam. A true expert always explains things in way that non experts can understand, therefore learning and improving themselves. Well done!

No preaching, just high quality information and comparisons enabling educated viewer decisions. My being somewhat older, his small differences in recoil get magnified in my hands. Paul presents sufficient raw data that I can determine when it will be significant in arthritic joints and I can see a different best for me than what's best for Paul. I get a lot more out of this channel than the 20 year olds proclaiming "must have" firearms that I know are fun for them and would be painfully not fun for me. Hang in there, Paul, we need more quality content like your videos.

As a former member of the US Army (I am NOT a veteran, as I never saw combat during my enlistment) and someone who could use my awards for volunteer public service as wallpaper, I concede that you sir are a man of much greater stature and the type that this country needs many more of. Your honesty and straightforwardness is a breath of fresh air. The amount of respect I have for you would be almost impossible to describe. While I thought myself to be somewhat knowledgeable when it comes to weapons of all types, I find that I was almost clueless in some areas and watching your videos has taught me much, so a very heartfelt thank you is owed. Unlike other channels that present information pertaining to guns, I know that what I see here is the most unbiased information I can find. I have yet to see you try and slide some kind of agenda or endorsement into any content you provide (Much to my amazement!). This fact alone deserves kudos. There is a very good reason why this channel has grown in leaps and bounds. The way you present the information you have in a simple and concise method is fantastic! and you see another reason every morning in the mirror. Thank you for your military and public service, creating this channel and upholding your reputation and honesty. I am sure it will continue!

I recently came across your channel, when I saw the first video the first thing came to my mind was he is a soft spoken polite person and your body language somehow let me know you are “a being there know that type of guy” + having grey hair ads to that of “he knows what he is talking about has lived so long in an environment surrounded by firearms”, you remind me of my sensei who also is a police officer. I’ve met a couple more people like both of you, and I have great respect for them and the knowledge I got from them. Greetings from Caracas- Venezuela. I believe gun community needs more people like you, hope you much success with your channel and keep uploading the good content.

Happy to help. Please continue as you were and don’t change anything about your self or your presentations. Also, please don’t let them talk you into excluding the long anecdotes as often times that is the most informative and interesting part. Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing you shoot various things of course, but it takes a special kind of person to make me want to continue to learn from you. I love it. Stay the course.

Paul- I very much enjoy your videos and channel, which I just recently found. Your speaking ability- your tone, word choice and method- is very professional and conveys your message easily and clearly and belies your knowledge and experience, which this video confirmed. I have no idea why the NRA or another large firearms association hasn’t hired you, because you’re an excellent ambassador for firearms safety, training, and methodology. Where most “gun personalities” make sweeping declarations, your opinions always seem to come from a place of science and reason, with plenty of discussion. Please keep up the great work!

Honestly, Mr.Harrell provides useful, practicable, and applicable information that a lot of folks could learn from. take myself for instance, I'm pretty new to shooting and when it comes to online firearms knowledge I get the vast majority of my advice from Paul Harrell, Jerry Miculek, and on occasion the Yankee Marshall. but put of all of those Mr.Harrell is by far the most informative. Even the little things Mr.Harrell says have merrit, using myself as an example again, after watching his presentation on the Miami Dade shootout I got a nerd strap for my glasses. Practicle and Applicable. now that's not all I learned form that video not at all, but its an example of a simple and direct change that helps.

The way you conduct yourself and explain your subject matter indicates that you do, in fact, know what you are talking about. While I completely understand not wanting to toot your own horn, it is perfectly reasonable for an audience to want to know who you are and why they should listen to you, so thank you for taking the time to make this video.
