I broke my leg and ankle, and I am living alone. Everything has been so hard. My hip is going out on my good side and my hands feel like they have been run over by a car trying to carry myself on my crutches. I couldn't make it to the bathroom at first. I was really feeling sorry for myself until I met Loren. Instead of feeling sorry for myself I feel like I can do anything now. He made me feel joyous and brave. I am going to take a bit of his strength for my own. No matter what hardships we face we can do this guys. Even if I lost my leg permanently I would still be okay. There is a little bit of Loren in each one of us. Every time we face hardship we grow stronger in mind and body.

I’m just amazed at your positive attitude. I am a mother of four, and as a mother this breaks my heart but at the same time, Loren, your family must be so thankful and blessed to have you with them, and still able to do so much. I can tell that you are young and strong and with all the advancements they are making in medicine-especially prosthetics, I would imagine you will walk again with the help of bionic legs and have the use of a bionic arm. I feel this technology is on the horizon and you will still be a young man when it becomes available. I pray that you keep getting more and more of your former mobility back as these medical advancements become available. You are an amazing young man! It's people like you who have helped me with my life. I'm a burn victim . I caught on fire at 5 years old 75% at 3rd degree in 1966 .my father was a navy pilot in the Vietnam war and his Commander had me moved to this hospital in Texas it was a burn unit and because of the war they needed to help the men who were burned but it was the first burn unit and they didn't know a lot back then. Any after I got out months later, my mom always made sure I was covered so people wouldn't know it was her way of protecting me from people being mean. I wished that she hadn't done that because when I became an adult I didn't know how to deal with it and had been having flash backs all growing up so I ended up losing my mind it took many years of therapy to get where I am today at the age of 60 now. But like I said, people like you have helped me the most, and I love you for that. You are positive and have beautiful energy ✨️ Thank you for sharing your life with me. What is so motivating about this is how casual this dude is lol Like yea even if he was in good spirits but was understandable very stoic, intense, serious and deep it would be impressive, motivating and uplifting, but to be so placid. This dude did not just survive, he got to a place where he conquered his condition so thoroughly that he is literally just chilling. Sporadic happiness after going through all this would be impressive enough, but to have a chill, laid back, aloof, cavalier type of peace? That says a lot. Man I know life might not always be this dope for you, but this snapshot into your day to day and your control, ownership and wielding of this moment, your circumstances and your mind state was humbling man. I feel guilty for not having any pity, I feel like I should, but dude I just have awe and amazement, you seem way too chill to have that awkward sense of concern for. I did go through about 4 months with the thoughts of this is my life. But I realized I have days I can get out of bed. I have days I can leave my house. Your positive attitude despite your limitations is such an inspiration. We recently lost a family member that was like a son to us who lost his arms,legs and ears in a 3rd degree gasoline explosion when he was 10. He passed days before Christmas at the age of 41 and was never expected to live. He was the most positive person I ever knew and thankful for everything he had. I'm 70 now and was a nurse for over 20 years and took care of my first case probably in the end of the 70's of a young man almost your age same situation but remember this was in the was in the 70s eighties. I am amazed at what you have given me and wish that I had seen you or known you when I was taking care of my first case. that young man had had an electrical burn from a transformer and a car accident and he was still an introduced coma at that time. But I know that my motions were rather hopeless unfortunately. But you have given me hope which I know that would have made my nursing much stronger and when he was awakened I would have been a much more support for him. I don't know if my nursing would have changed but I know that my emotions and mental stamina and awareness and excitement maybe to know that there's a future that has every part of living in it. I do want to say having very impaired a lot myself that I understand the amount of energy you exert and doing some weather minimal task as we see it. So while you make it a good spirit for us I understand that you work at it on a day-to-day basis and want to say that I hope that we keep supporting you so that you know that you're making a difference in other people's lives. ❤️👍🌞

As someone who suffers from a serious chronic illnesses, I can completely understand and fully sympathize with what you’re experiencing and going through on a daily basis just to try to maintain a daily ‘normal life’. I have to do daily TPN infusions just to get nutrition because my complete digestive system/tract is so severely damaged by sarcoidosis for 22 years. So I get it about all the extra steps that need to be done just to ‘maintain’…I’ve got to do that too! But you’ve got me beat, and I’ve got nothing but respect for you doing it all with one hand! We are warriors, don’t ever forget that. I’d be happy to be your friend. I commend your gorgeous wife for supporting you and staying strong to your marriage vows. In sickness and in health. My husband has been my strength and my rock. We’ve been married 20 years. I couldn’t do this without him.

I am 35 years down the road from my onset of ulcerative colitis with a very wonderful life as a full time musician. I have a question, how many calories do you eat a day and do you have hard fiber issues? What’s your favorite musical artist? I’m pretty blown away. Not sure how I landed on your sight, but educating as many as people with such a charitable spirit…this is your calling. Do you do tedtalks or work as a motivation speaker? @Chickadee None of us can imagine the pain he has now and will go through for the rest of his life. Phantom pain is real as is having to contort your body in ways to fit in the bucket which can cause pressure sores and severe pain. I'm positive that he would rather have his body back than to have to control his pain. Taking pain medication is not the only way to control it but when you have severe pain, you don't get the high or euphoria because it's working on the pain. He is a handsome badass with a fantastic attitude! His wife and he define unconditional love and I hope they receive much blessings in their life going forward.

Дело не в позитиве, он позитивный на камеру, в жизни это огромная душевная травма и потеря, не говоря уже о невозможности личной жизни. Но в этой жизни есть куча плюсов, как у любого тяжелого инвалида. Например, возможность посвящать больше времени другим вещам, не тем, которые предпочитают полностью здоровые люди. Карьера, секс, погоня за прибылью отходят на второй план или уходят из жизни совсем. В замен ты получаешь душевный покой, посвящение себя полностью своему хобби, домашним делам, чтению, виртуальным путешествиям. И это не меньшее удовольствие! Пишу, так как сам инвалид 1 группы и знаю о чем говорю. Поэтому и в таком казалось бы удручающем состоянии можно жить полноценной насыщенной жизнью. Просто многим трудно это понять, они привыкли к другой жизни. И это тоже нормальная ситуация. Каждому - свое!

A good buddy of mine is a triple amputee due to him surviving an explosion in the Iraq War. The cool thing about him is he still lives life to the absolute fullest. He also is a great wheelchair rugby player as well. You’ve made no excuses, you’ve adapted and overcame whatever obstacles life has thrown at you. Salute.

С какой целью им это смотреть? Чтобы постебаться над страданиями этого человека, своими жалкими высказываниями "я думал/-а у меня проблемы, а тут..."? Со стороны, это выглядит мерзко. "Ой, руки, ноги у меня есть, оказывается, мои проблемы мелкие" фу, мерзко, противно, не достойно человека. Не надо им это смотреть. Их проблемы в голове и они никуда не денутся. А этому человеку, несмотря на его оптимизм и шутки, очень, очень больно душевно и физически. И он вызывать у здорового человека должен только сострадание и сочувствие, но никак не сравнение со своей никчёмной жизнью, где единственная радость, что у него есть то, чего нет у этого парня.
