This is my chance. I've been playing since early TBC. Was an altaholic so I didn't ding max level until Cata. Still haven't done a raid... I want to progress classic and TBC sooo bad. I really want friends but I am a dad so I never get the time. This time I am going to prioritize leveling and getting to end game quickly as a warrior (overdone and a lot of competition but I love warrior).

We finally get fresh classic/tbc servers, according to the roadmap only 12 months untill tbc so already they catered to the speedrunners and sweatlords. And the first thing you hear some ppl say is "get rested exp addon, now, quick, rush! TF you aint lvl 10 yet" etc...alpha and omega kek. Literally me, going through my choices. I love paladin but I love Paladin from like Wrath onwards... i did the level as a holy pally with a dungeon group last classic, don't wanna do that again. Hate levelling warrior though end game is fun. I don't wanna spend my life farming to summon people and give healthstones, so lock is out. No to about everything... hunter for when i play alone and mage to play with friends and be a vending machine is the decision I've come to.

I'd like to see some guides focus on leveling, and only leveling. I don't raid or pvp. I've played enough to know what I like, including female nightelf warrior: Their fighting animations are so awesome! But I'd like some advice on leveling and questing as fire mage, smite priest, fury warrior, melee survival hunter, balance druid. There are lots of fun non-meta (re: cliche) builds. Also would be nice to have some profession guides, including farming spots for the gathering profs. I know some good spots for tin, wild steelbloom, etc, but be great to go through all of that. Thanks for your hard work. I've been a fan for years now. :)

I would recommend not going Warrior or Mage unless you want a LOT of competition for gear. By a LOT I mean a LOT! 3-5 raids without a single piece of gear is normal. While you're trying to get your gear, you'll see alts of less played classes get all of their gear. There is also a lot of competition for raid slots. Sure, raids bring a lot of Warrior and Mage, but you can bet you're getting benched next raid if you're one of the worse Warrior/Mage for DPS. Raids won't care if you're performing worse because you haven't gotten gear either.

Finding a good raid guild group is more important than the class you play. My guild from classic/SoD typically runs about 5-10 raids per lockout and they are first-come first-serve (just gotta signup when raids get posted). My guild is still running SoD but I don't like it since phase 3... unfortunately I'm going to have to find a new guild for this fresh launch because my guild is still doing SoD but I'm sure there will be plenty to choose from. I was able to not only get raid spots easily but on several alts as well - even low-performing classes because classic raids are easy and once they are on farm, within a couple weeks of first clear, it doesn't really much matter what classes you take (as long as you are decent at playing it).

Assuming you mean from a PvE standpoint, all classes are viable in all 3 expansions **IF** you're willing to swap specs between expansions. An example: to be viable on a pally throughout all 3 you need to be holy in vanilla, prot for tbc (although you do bring 1 ret and 1 holy for the utility in 25 man TBC raids, but holy is mediocre and ret isn't amazing until late), and then in wrath you can do what you want. If you want to stay a certain role the whole time it's a bit slimmer. For dps rogue/mage/lock/hunter are viable the whole time (although lock is a bit weak in early to mid vanilla, so I could understand arguments against them. But in TBC and Wrath lock is the #1 most in-demand dps, so that should make up for it. and also it's very underplayed in vanilla so you will be in-demand for your utility at least) For healers, they are all viable the whole time, minus maybe pally in TBC unless you wanna be your guild's 1 holy pally who is underpowered but is still brought for the buffs. Also heroics in TBC as holy pally can be a bit dicey if you and/or the group are not experienced. For tanks, probably bear druid is the only one that is good the whole time. In vanilla Warrior tank is king with bear druid being a good OT. Pally tank not really viable because of mana. In TBC they are all viable, with pally shining as the best aoe / 5 man tank. In Wrath pally and druid tanks are good, but warrior tank is pretty underpowered (although still somewhat viable, just not wanted.. very fun spec though. If you wanna tank 5 mans only then they're excellent at that though).

Class doesn't matter at all if you're willing to swap specs, every class has at least 1 great spec per expansion. I think you should only care about what you want to play in Vanilla, as chances are high enough that you will quit before a later expansion without you also playing a class that isn't your #1 choice.

Depends on the guild but when I was playing as a bear and doing raid perp a guild actually picked me up to be a cat. They made sure to have all the auras they could get even had one boomkin. Keep in mind they only want one boomkin+cat per raid team. Just for cat hope you're ready to be in gnomeregan a lot and like powershifting. Bears also need gnomeregan for MCP's for threat, even more so for Horde.

Will watch the more in-depth video now, but I think a big thing missing here is likely population/competition for loot. Namely how many people are likely to roll that class *and* how contested are your rolls going to be for loot for a particular spec? I'm not a sweaty meta-type, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but previously Warriors were all over the place (and had massive competition for melee damage loot) while Druids had a very easy time of getting their raid sets (though resto druids of course have to compete with other healers for cloth loot). I'm thinking I'll go Shaman this time around, as it's the class I have the least play time/experience with and honestly I have no idea what to expect in terms of how easy it'll be to get resto loot.

Heavily considering doing an undead priest this time, since I did a nelf hunter the first time around and a druid in SoD. Haven't been horde in a while, and priest sounds fun to strive for Benediction later on. I am tempted to go Shammy, but I'll leave that for the private servers or potentially Classic+, where it feels better to play one. Warrior is also tempting, but it doesn't feel like my thing. I could enjoy it, but given every 2 out of 3 players is a warrior, I don't think I'll stand out, I'm neither an expert nor a huge enthusiast for it. Priest, on the other hand, I can excel at more easily. But yeah, I have indeed never played a warrior, and I'd lie if I said I wasn't curious.

Was leveling an undead priest on Whitemane when fresh was announced. Got to 30, was having a blast, highest I ever leveled a priest. Once you get gravestone scepter and a bunch of “of the owl” gear you can grind like a lock/hunter and stand strong in wpvp

Make the groups yourself, it is usually easy to find someone willing to tank (just for the sake of get going) and the same for a healer. And obviously other DPS is easy. If you catch one of the 3 first waves of levelers, you will be able to make your own groups quick. + we have the looking for group tool this time :)

If you hate leveling and gearing then I come back to my first point, why even play classic, every endgame activity in classic is social, you dont want to be social? There is a single player WoW called TWW with better raids and more endgame content. But I have to admit Im probably to harsh on guids. Guids can be fun to use.

There are no bis races. It is 2024, any race you like will do as racials make 0 different.. expect bosses to die down super quick once again (as in classic 2019). Si simply play what you like :)

@@AlCap0le Beacuse they will release tbc soon after. so ofcourse you hvae to think long game if you planning to play fresh. Yeah fury are really good with warglaives. Problem is that there will be soooo many warriors in classic so when it goes from vanilla to tbc its gonna be overcrowded probably. And you kinda dont want spots for furys in raids usually (atleast in earlier game) And people rather take arms for the bonus they give to all other melees and hunters. Some meta groups got like 14 warlocks or something stupid like that. But ofc if you find a guild it can be easy to play whatevre u want.

Yes if you plan to wait untill tbc releases or start later you are correct you can level faster if you had the funds to do so by buying boosts. Not interested in tbc beacuse of attuments? Classic do have even more attuments and longer to get to so not sure that would be a legit reason. Also i think a majority of players will play fresh classic beacuse of the tbc afterwards. Why else would you play knowing that it will be tbc? You already have an era server if you just want to continue with classic era.

Here we go again! Im thinking going full altoholic from the start. If i make one of each class directly i always make some progress rather than playing and deleting. Not sure if in gonna go mostly Orc team for awesome racials. Human for good racial and look good in gear/animations. Or undead females for awesome animation and gear but bad racials.

I choose based on the starting/leveling areas as that impacts game enjoyment more than some racials... which in the long run don't make that much of a difference unless you're a sweaty parce-monster but then you will have no choice but to play the meta.

Well, one could argue that Mage is absolutely god tier for leveling. Sure, Warlocks and Hunters are excellent in leveling combat, but as a Mage, you have an unmatched utility with portals and teleports, letting you set your Hearthstone directly in your questing zone while also providing your own food and drink. This saves you both a ton of gold and time! And of course, there’s also AoE damage, mob control, and mages are also able to solo some elites (though Warlocks and Hunters are usually better at it). That’s simply unrivaled. And yes, I’m a Mage main, butthurt that Warlocks got a god tier classification while Mages didn’t. Why do you ask? ^^

ret aint briliant but its far better than 'low tier', it can do DPS with some gear, not as much as warrior or rogue but it's not that far off - some good ret pallys out there have done decent. It's a very usable spec, moreso than an enhance shaman or a feral druid that you both said are better which isnt the case.

Keep in mind TBC is following this up. Orc racials get nerfed. You have arena with your own faction so horde warlocks have to contend with will of the forsaken. I don't think they will allow race changes either.

Not at all. You become mid tier by power shifting and farming pummelers. Feral is low-tier without the effort and mid-tier with the effort. They can't achieve high-tier unless they go all in with consumables, gear and just about every single trick in the book. The problem with feral is you have to do everything just to be mediocre while other classes can do barely anything to be high-tier on the DPS. That being said, it can be pretty fun to play feral.

I tried to play ret pally back in 2020. Just don't. Totally not viable. Even with full epic its not worth at all. He said in the video that a warrior could triple a ret pally dps he was being kind Its like 4~5 times dps from a ret specially in later phases.
