You've a good long time to go before you start the trek, if I have any advice it's to get some miles under your belt, build up your core to protect your back and don't fret about it.

Nothing beats quality coffee or tea when you’re out, in no hurry, listening to the birdsong 🦌🦔🦡😎

Nice video Dan👍 I love a wet forest trek, it's the scents in the air I think. Ah, rich and strong coffee, nice. The upcoming trip will be a test but also a blast, wishing you well in advance. Your four legged friend will love the time out in the wild with you, waiting to see the fun.. Enjoy!

That looked like a good coffee for a morning time, slowly waking up in a woodland such as the one you were relaxing in that day. I loved the pitter-patter on your tarp, the woodland colours and all. Good times out to relax. I bet there is a lot of planning to do for the South Downs Way ;) Cheers, Warren

Lovely little few hours there mate... I do like just getting out for a bit for a cuppa... Nice to let the brain unravel for a while! I'm sure you'll be fine on the SDW mate, and by the sound of things, you're not going to be powering through it, so less chance of burnout. All the best, James 🙏💚

I consider seeing a muntjac a pure delight. You shouldve taken a hammock, drank coffee and snoozed, perfect. Ps. Thankyou for sharing your coffee time

Looking forward to you sharing your trip. I think it's an amazing idea. We have plans to section hike the Appalachian Trail. Both of us are getting a right knee each. So next spring is the goal. You can do it.

light bag, comfy walking shoes, comfort with regards to sleeping stuff , some treats for morale, audiobooks. Weather will make it or make it miserable, you know all of this and will be fine. Fair play to you mate ,16.66 miles a day so a ten hour walking day is a slow 1.66 mph rate, defiantly achievable and if you decide to have an days rest in the middle why the hell not . atb Rob

Hey Dan, Over the last year I’ve backpacked the Pennine Way twice with my dog Lola (Sept 22 and April 23) going again in April to walk it again - if you need any advice give me a shout - I’ve wild camped a number of times last year with James (so he can vouch for me) Prior to those walks id done nothing of note, I’m a totally unremarkable 62 year old who likes junk food and beer

All the best for the South Downs, Dan. You’ll smash it. Shut off to that noise. It’s easy to do. You and Burton are too posh and should accept the noise 😁 ATB good sir 😉👍🏼
