So I work at a domestic violence shelter, and let me tell you, the Fresh & Fit guy is an exact cookie cutter image of how most abusers are described to me by survivors. The general rage toward most women, the way he gets so much angrier when talking about how women choose to express their sexuality, the way he shuts down when he's confronted and resorts to shit like "she's triggered," when he had to leave the room when that woman called him mean, HUGEEE red flags. A lot of abusers are insecure about themselves and project their internal frustration outward onto women, which is what I'm seeing in these videos. The us-versus-them mentality he has against women also indicates to me that he doesn't see women as equal to him. Of course, this is all speculation, but a lot of his qualities are ingredients in abusers. Thank you for talking about these things on your show, I think it's important to call out this behavior so it isn't normalized. This man and anyone who agrees with his rhetoric 10000% need ~therapy~

Oh boy big time plot holes. First and foremost you work with women who are abused. 1 last a checked abuse is to repeatedly be cruel or violent towards (fill in blank). If he "shuts down and has to leave the room" how is that described as violent or cruel. Side note he gets frustrated and upset and choose to walk away. When did that become a bad thing? Its been awhile since I was in any kind of therapy but is that not what thet say to do anymore? If men and women are equal then please explain to me why if the police are called to a domestic issue a man is more likely to be arrested. Even in cases where there is no evidence of harm or a struggle of any kind he will mostly likely be "asked" to leave. Side note how many men do you help in your work?

@@zakedwards9593 Im not OP but I think I can shed a bit of light on your questions. I tottally see where you are coming from with leaving the room. If the relationship is healthy then leaving the room to cool off is a good thing but manipulative abusers will often use that as a tool. If you bring up any little criticism or something benign that they read as a criticism they blow it up, give you the cold shoulder, dramatically walk out. Its a way of ensuring you are never sure if youve said or done the right thing. So essentially, leaving the room like that isnt a bad thing in isolation but when paired with other abusive behaviours it is a bad thing. I am by no means an expert but I have experienced this kind of emotional, mental, verbal abuse. And for what its worth I've experienced it from both a male and a female partner. Hope that answers your question:) Edit: just wanted to add that you're right on the police issue. The way the police deal with domestics are very poor. It somehow always puts the blame on the male regardless but also they dont go anywhere near far enough to protect victims. Its so fucked up. I've known two men who were abused by female partners yet they some how ended up arrested. And Ive know victims who also got absolutely no support after their other half was arrested and so the abuse got worse. Shit system!

Choosing to walk away in arguments to cool off is fine, and yes, is a therapeutic technique. I agree with Emma's comment that it can still be used as a tool of abuse. But I was saying the fact that he gets so angry over only being told that he's mean that he has to leave the room is a sign of anger problems. Also, men are more likely to be arrested for DV because more abusers are men. Just look at the data. You'd almost be right if you were referring to how police have arrested male victims who were being abused by women because the officers wrongly assumed the man was the abuser. Also, the agency I work at is required by law to help people of all genders who are being abused, we would lose our primary funder if we didn't help men.

It could be because young black women go to college at higher rates, and have more expectations in a partner than in previous generations. It’s causing a lot of bitterness from black men. That’s why there’s a market for this.

It could be the incarceration rate of black men because of racism too. Growing up without a father. And then their moms don't have a partner supporting them which can and often do lead to emotional incest which has a huge detrimental effect on a person's mental/emotional development.
