I have 37 offences, mostly violent from the age of 16-21 but I’ve not been in trouble for over 12 years and now I have completed a degree with first class honours and now I’m studying for my PhD. People can change and if you believe in rehabilitation then what’s the problem? We all make mistakes in life and we should all have the opportunity to re-enter society. The best route for offenders is a construction qualification and becoming self employed because then no one can hold you back because of your offences.

Do these guys get any mental health support while on tag? One of them has OCD & another obviously has trauma from his childhood. Real rehabilitation means changing your mindset, change your thought processes & it changes how you react to situations. They need support to work through past problems, they arent the kind of lads that are gonna want to have a heart to heart with their mates, they will think it shows weakness, or worse their mates might react badly & shame them for admitting thier problems. You can have all the intent & determination but if you dont realize what is causing you to act out, or what triggers you, then how are you supposed to prevent committing the same mistakes & crimes? A lot of people dont even realize what they are doing wrong, then CBT can change their life.

What are you gonna do when someone's in your house where your mother and sister sleeps witg a weapon? Even if they didn't have a weapon, are you really going to take that chance? That's the way these people think, because they've been locked up with people who will take advantage of any weekness they see

Them people that were doing mdma, speed and drinking back in early secondary school coz it's cool tend to end up like this. I feel like some people lack ambition. You don't have to be intelligent to make something of yourself in this country. You don't even have to have gone to 6th form or have grades, it feels to just boil down to not thinking about the future for one and their loved ones around them. That paranoid guy living with his mom and sister is worryingly close to a Pistorius situation.

10:46 The reporter seems surprised by the hammer " Seems like a nice neighborhood" he says. Yes, it may well be. But you still have to watch out for the scumbags who come in to target nice neighborhoods from out of town. It seems that rural neighborhoods are seen as an easy target.
