...gotta say...the most BORING youtube video i have ever watched since youtube started .... watching someone wash detail a daily car .... though i am a car nut and can appreciate giving a new car a full detail before it reaches it's first owner .. or some classic old multi million dollar sports car ... that doesn't get driven and will spend the rest of their lives garaged....but ermmm normal cars ....daily drivers ... nuthins wrong with a good rinse with a bit of water and detergent all over... after all it WILL rain tomorrow when you go out and drive ... and get dirty all again ...surely...surely....all the time................on detailing your daily car could be better spent on much more important things such as maintenance and mechanical upgrades...yeah

cleaning IS a sort of maintenace, worth for exterior and interior...so long term car will stay "like new" and in case of selling the car it will reach higher price for sure (because of conditions). To be honest when you buy some car first thing you see is exterior, paint, and general condition same goes for the inside this may lead you to think whether this car is maintained nicely or not...while some thing inside engine are not visible and you may totally miss it... Forget all that, i hope you know what detergent doing to paint, also are you familiar with purpose of waxing the car? Yes it looks shiny, but also repels water (same rain you are mentioning) + dirt = indeed later easier cleaning, rinsing and drying

I got your point. Its different case when you are sort of used/new car dealer or flipping cars fast. I was aiming more toward long ownership of the car, lets say you own car for 10 years. Probably some people don't care about cars, so I see like 1 year old cars full of scratch because owner gives a shit, where others pushing limits of spent hours on cleaning. I see tons of people (even on youtube) washing car with a broom and dish soap. Decent car soap is not expensive, wash mitt also, bucket also. So if they decide to hand wash it, then it would be wise to use proper method. My experience on a decent paint, with pressure washer, hand was, 2 buckets, and waxing, 1 and a half hours of work, as weekend joy its not too bad :)

I had a 1995 Integra for 7 years, I loved it. I cleaned top to bottom then waxed once panel at a time, I lived in a very hot area, you had to work fast. I usually took the seats out for vacuuming, It was a wonderful car and I miss it so much.

I can't stand using little detail brushes when cleaning rims it takes longer,, as a mobile detailer I use the soft bristle handle brush. Covers more surface area. Time is money

Honestly never watched a video of car detailing. However, I was intrigued the whole time. I have an 04 Acura type S, since they never released the type R after 2001 and they are all rat bagged. Sadly my car is in white pearl and not championship white. That honda is beautiful. Cheers

No I think they stopped producing Type R in 2004-05 then the Type S came out

I meant here in North America. They never released the type R after 2001, it was automatically the RSX type S with different features. Heated leather seats and other luxury items. And other stuff like cams and things of that nature. Personally would rather have the red recaro seats than my leather.

I work at a body shop/collision center sometimes i detail cars and everything this man is doing is how i was taught to do it props to this dude for taking his shit seriously thats detailing on a whole different level people just drop there cars off and some dont understand how much work it is! Thanks for the video. Very thorough and a lot of valuable tips. I'm a novice car detailer. I have two vehicles - a Dodge van and a Kia hatchback - nothing special but still fun to work on. I clay bar the cars once a year and polish them. Since I'm on a budget, I use a cheaper DA polisher (Harbor Freight), inexpensive pads and use Meguiars Ultimate Compound and Ultimate polish. I then apply a few coats of Klasse SG over a few days. Throughout the summer and fall, I'll wash and add additional coats of Klasse - especially before the snow, sand and salt arrives. I also do my rustproofing at this time. After watching your video, a couple things I'd like to improve on in my routine are the initial washing and de-greasing. One of those foaming guns/sprayers would be great. The pre-cleaning of badges/emblems etc will be added to my routine. I have one quick question if you don't mind. Sometimes I get holograms after polishing my Kia (darker color). Do you have any tips on how to avoid instilling holograms? Thanks again.

Try slowing down the rate at which you move the machine over the surface to allow the product to be broken down properly, use a less aggressive polish/pad combo or follow up with a finishing polish to refine.
