There's certain songs that create a sense of emotional nostalgia, even if it doesn't specifically tie to anything in particular. This is one of those songs.

I was revising for my finals in electronics in Cardiff when this was playing on the radio and it was my theme song in the dead of night looking out over the rooftops from my lonely garret. :-) They were the future, and so it proved in the 90's. Brilliant musicians.

When I was teenager in 1983 (cd was too new and you couldn't get this track - only on vinyl) I took my record player, headphones and did "exactly" that. Only this song after and after and I still can do it (and I do), but much easier without moving myself listening it on cd or mp3. And my headphones are much better now... ;o)

@karmafarm12 жыл бұрын
This album, Doot Doot, was exceptional. Freur understood musical technology and used it well, they produced organic melodies and lyrics, and they got the importance of image. Notice also the reel-to-reel, spinning unhidden behind them. Backing tracks were important to their sound, and they saw no reason to pretend otherwise, unlike so many artists today.
