Hello Freya. Really liked your channel and wanted to thank you for sharing so much knowledge through it. I'm from Brazil and South corner in a power metal band, where I am required to sing very high tones (D5, E5, F5, G5, A5) for someone male, even in head voice (although some of covers songs I sing to use falsetto in their original versions, but I'm not a fan of this effect in this music style), but their precise explanations help me to understand more deeply the mechanisms of production of the singing voice, including as a way to shape the songs I want to build one day. You know, I think singing is cool, but know what and how is singing is even better. Therefore, although not falsetto technique fan in my usual singing style (Metal and Hard), I found it very cool your video on the subject, therefore, understand the employee vocal scheme helps me know where I stand exactly when I compare techniques. And who knows, singing in another style someday , I can use it properly. Again, thank you for your videos.
@tommyvicente41148 жыл бұрын
+Tommy Vicente Oh, in addition ( so you do not think I'm virtuous or professional ) , the notes mentioned, A5, G5 , F5 and E5 are little used , usually at the end , choirs with loose notes, loose notes (like scream ) therefore build phrases (albeit with modifications of vowels ) in notes from E5 , F5 and above this is too complicated for me without the risk of losing the pitch (untune) or suffer from voice breaking , falling into falsetto involuntarily . Thank you.

Thank you for these videos. I only started watching your videos in December when I made a non official New Year's resolution to polish my singing voice. Of all of the coaches on KZbin you've been the one I go to first because they cover so many bases and offer the most common sense explanations and exercises that I can relate to. I'm a baritone. I sing comfortably in roughly John Legend's register but with a tone and style that's closer to an unpolished (so far) Aaron Neville. Concerning my falsetto process, good news: I actually have one forming. On my third month of focused practice, I'm finally getting somewhat controlled sounds where there was just empty air. Bad News: It sounds like a scratchy Kermit the frog, if it's just one note or a run there's not much problems. But if I try to sing whole verses in it, I eventually start straining. Am I putting too much on myself too early? Or are there any exercises that teach my neck and throat to loosen up?

Freya, I am a 30s aged male and have always had a potentially good singing voice, however never pursued it. My voice is therefore not free/unbound or practice in any way. I feel my falsetto range is limited. I can just about match the pitch of Jordan Knight in songs such as "If You Go Away Girl" by New Kids on the Block. I feel this is a good practice song due to it's timing, composure and range - yet not too extreme or involving any compression so the singing is clean. My main issue is some of the notes I cannot quite reach and on the ones I can, it's a bit wobbly and I am often unsure of myself. Oddly when I sing along to the music I perform better then without it. Can you provide any tips how I could do better on basic songs such as this?

I am an alto so I sing pretty low, and once I get to a certain point I have to soften my voice to prevent it from cracking. My issue is my falsetto is very low ( I am a self taught singer and have never taken choir or any professional lessons so I'm not sure if I am using this term correctly) and it makes it a difficult to sing a lot of my songs. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could increase my range?
@genesis37904 жыл бұрын
Whats an alto?
@alexishitchcock51664 жыл бұрын
@@genesis3790 A certain range in which you are comfortable singing in. For example, people who have a higher range and can reach a higher octave can be placed in the Soprano "group" while those who sing a little bit lower would be considered an Alto. I believe those who can sing lower than the average Alto are considered Bass. Again I am no expert these are just a few things I have learned from other musicians.
