and in head voice i sing better than chest voice like its easier for high notes and when i try to belt in chest it really strains my voice and i think its because im too scared to try the high notes any advice?
@DnAfilms405
@DnAfilms405 7 жыл бұрын
I had the same problem. my parents complained that I was too loud all the time and, thus, I never experienced my full potential in belting. you have to find somewhere you can be comfortable and really express the limits of your diaphragm. if you feel strain in your throat when you belt, it's because you're using the wrong muscles. all of your belting comes from your diaphragm and you do not consciously use any muscles in your throat/shoulder area. singing will be loud sometimes, and that's just the truth, so you may as well get comfortable with it.

Dylan Hite me too I have the same problem I want to try and see how high and loud I can go but I'm not really free to do so cause of neighbors and parents I can't even know my vocal range 😭I wanted to try at school music room but it's next to art room and I'm afraid I would bother them too

simply LOlo you just have to do it. Own it. If it sounds like shit, so what. Someone has got to hear it eventually if you're serious about it. Tell your parents. Say it might be a little loud, might be a little obnoxious, but I'm learning. You can always talk to your choir teacher. A big part of unlocking your voice is facing the fears that come with it. Good luck DONT GIVE UP. You will get there, as long as you be patient with yourself and keep at it,

Adele can hit D5 in chest voice as her highest chesty note. Any higher and she sounds strsined6, hence the high note in When we were young she hit (Eb5) as in a upper mixed belt note. She's naturally an Alto so singing really high is a challenge for her.

The word false in the word helps to identify the difference between head voice that is more connected with chest when blending the two ,while falsetto , sounds more girly ,airy, breathy, dreamy.

I became a vocal coach to prepare my granddaughter for a talent show. I learned by studying videos of people like you, Freya and studying training manuals from all over the world. My granddaughter & I got so much attention that talented prodigies flocked to me for advice. I’m not a vocal trainer but rather a vocal coach. There is so much difference in opinions about falsetto, head voice, whistle voice, etc,etc. Your method of explaining seems the simplest way but I’m gonna compare notes with other pros like you. . . Thanx, Freya. . I just subscribed to your KZbin channel. . .

I'm kinda noticing that when I sing high notes they are every piercing and sharp but when I sing lower notes they can get breathy and sometimes weird. And I naturally wanna go high when I sing. I got labeled as an Alto in chorus because my speaking voice can get low sometimes especially when put under the spotlight like I was when they were having me sing to figure out my voice type. Maybe I'm actually a soprano who can hit low notes?

Hi Freya, I have a question and some confusion. My SLS voice teacher says that we have 2 pairs of vocal folds, a top layer and a bottom layer, and that in falsetto, our true cords stay apart and our false vocal cords underneath (NOT the false cords that help us swallow) but false vocal folds underneath the normal vocal cords that vibrate instead of our normal true vocal cords. Can you tell me how she could perceive falsetto this way because I have watched people's falsetto on stroboscopy exams in falsetto and to my eyes it is the same two vocal cords vibrating as full voice. How could she perceive it this way?? Let me know. Thank you.

If you want to sound like you're singing in your chest voice, start with imitating an opera singer (of course female), and tailor that into whatever song you're singing. Don't be fooled, head voice does require support, especially with power. Tighten your stomach when singing in any register, but don't just use support in chest voice because it sounds like it would need more. You probably don't care a year later but idk for anyone else wondering?
