Great video, I havo only one question: why are we defining the pressure BC on the tool in min 7:11, while defining the speed in min 9:14? in this way the speed control may overwrite the pressure control making it usless, don't it? also in min 9:14 the V2 is set to 6, shouldn't it be set on -6? thanks very much

Pressure implies the applied force. In addition, velocity is required to refer downward movement

thanks for your detailed FSW video. Why do you take 2 different film coefficient values for the bottom and all other surfaces? Please try to clarify. Thanks

Why don't you assigned section property for w/p , only eularian part and tool only. 15:05
@Abaqus-Tutorials3 жыл бұрын
The assigned property is for workpice, assigning eulerian mean w/p

Also, V2 speed during the plunging step shouldn't be -6 because the tool moves downwards in the y axis?
@Abaqus-Tutorials3 жыл бұрын
downward movement is equal to the distance between tool and workpiece plus expected penetration. Already you know the distance when you assemble

Hello, thanks for the tutorial. Can you explain how did you do the partitioning? Also why the parts appear to be the same size when the eulerian is 7mm and the Wp is 3mm (thickness)?

partition is done by drawing line on one sarface

Hello sir, thanks for the helpful tutorial. I have a question about BCs you assigned for the Tool, the rotation speed is 500 radians/time. It means the speed is appox 4777 rpm. Is this right?

What is the Element Type for the Tool? Is the Tool Geometric Order Linear or Quadratic? and what is the Family? is it Coupled Temperature-Displacement or what? Thanks
@Abaqus-Tutorials3 жыл бұрын
Create a tool as 3D, deformable. The geometric order is linear and the family is Coupled Temperature-Displacement.

Sir, if we use two different types of wp material, supposed Al5000 and Al6000 series, then what will be the eulerian part material, or what will be the base material for eulerian part 15:03 ? Sir Please Reply
@Abaqus-Tutorials2 жыл бұрын
Properly make a partition for both eulerian and langrangian. First create different material properties i.e, Al5000 and Al6000

I am doing the analysis in ansys workbench.. However there are large deformations getting recorded and the fsw tool gets stuck in between and does not traverse the whole length. What could be the possible reason?

I am doing a similar FSW simulation but in results i am not getting deformations on the plates like grooved created by rotating tool, etc. Can you tell what might be missing? Also i gave plate material type as deformable. Do i have to use eulerian?
@Abaqus-Tutorials3 жыл бұрын
Eulerian best for large deformation. It may due to material property or tool rotation

First of all thank you for the tutorial. But can you tell which time the simulation took in your case. On my computer with license on 4 cores only after 3 days I have just 0.76 process time finished.

It Must be finished in 3 days. Actually, it depends on computer, not only ram, cpu, ..., but if the computer processer runs a number of program at the same time, it will delay
