I’m a dentist. One of my patients took a very stressful job at work and immediately developed periodontitis. I referred him to a specialist who kept it from getting worse. Eventually, the patient finished the stressful project, retired, and went back college to study ethic music. His periodontitis rapidly improved. We don’t know if stress caused the problem or maybe his lifestyle changed when he was a big shot executive.

Unfortunately I can't name a company, but there is a really good company in Canada that makes toothpaste with essential oils (LL). These are quite expensive, so if you find them too expensive, you can make them yourself. But I have to say that if you use it over a long period of time as recommended, you get amazing results. However, your diet should not contain any ready-made products; it is best to cook according to Dr. Greger's recipes. Rinse your teeth with tea such as chamomile tea or mix it with essential oils and coconut water. All the best for you❤❤❤

Have you tried eliminating all added sugars and severely limiting dried fruit and juice, even orange juice and beet juice? You (well, your bacteria) may have a strong reaction to sugars.

@@jeremywvarietyofviewpoints3104 same here: vegan with periodontal disease; however once my dentist noticed it and started treating it (I was at the beginning stages), they were absolutely shocked at how quickly I recovered. I've inherited very bad teeth from both parents. Since turning vegan, I feel that my dental issues persist to some degree, but I've heard the phrase "you've managed to clear out this inflammation much quicker than expected" every time I've gotten a bad problem. I think our diet hopefully keeps us from deepening our issues. Hope things go as best they can for you with these issues.

I notice a big difference in my dental appointments depending on what I am eating. I go through stretches where I try to eat very whole foods, and stretches where I eat more junk food. I haven't had meat for 7 plus years, but junk food and diet really determine if I have cavities.

I developed periodontal disease while on a vegan diet but I had a few factors that led to that result: depression (because of other pain condition), bad advice from dental hygienist, and too many sweets. I'm managing it now but the damage is done and I don't know that gum grafts are even available in my country. I have some aches in front teeth because of it, but it is on and off. Cold weather makes it worse, and I also get a runny nose much more often. I also had braces as a kid and think that the metal retainer was part of the cause as the recession is much worse on those teeth.

Only difference between my family members who all had false teeth by my age is all the raw produce I regularly consume. Other than that, I had the same horrible SAD diet as many Americans until recently.

Go vegan for your health, whole food plant based. Go vegan for the animals. Go vegan for the planet. Go vegan and be healthier and happier. A lower risk of heart disease and cancer for you and a better planet for everyone, human and animals. Eating healthy is not a diet it is a healthy life style. Go out and look around. The vast majority of people you see are obese or al least over weight. People do not need to be fat shamed BUT being over weight is not healthy and leads to a host of illnesses. When you look around you can see all the unhealthy people without taking a blood test or a fitness test "NORMAL" for the average American is "UNHEALTHY" The health of society is in decline.

At 55 three years ago i switch to whole food paleo eating primary meat, fish, eggs and low glycemic vegs and fruit and my oral health improved dramatically as well as my metabolic health and i lost 45 lbs and have kept it off. Animal foods are not causing the metabolic dysfunction and disease unless they are being ate with process grain, sugar and seed oil garbage foods. Animal foods are healthy with whole food plants not including grain and sugar.

I eat an animal based diet - mostly animal product with a small addition of non starchy vegetables and sometimes berries. Some days are 100% carni, but predominantly low carb keto. Vegan diet almost killed me in my early 30's (no exaggeration). The animal based diet healed me and helped me recover faster...

If sugar and starch foundation diets were healthy they wouldnt rot our teeth and cause gum disease. A healthy diet shouldnt cause disease and require a tooth brush. The reason saturated fat and cholesterol is remotely associated with oral disease is because what you call carnivores eat garbage diets of mostly grain and sugar with meat. These people are not eating whole food diets. Everyone knows without question it is sugar, starch that feed the bad bacteria that cause oral disease and create plaque full of strep mutans. Strep mutans is what causes gum disease and tooth decay. No conicidence strep mutans is also found in cardiac plaque. Strep mutans an other bad bacteria does not feed on Meat and cholesterol nor does it stimulate growth of bad bacteria there is zero corrolation. Bacteria love sugar and starch.
