Back in the 70s our radio station (WMMS 101) played this every Saturday at Midnight. I was usually at some party. Great memories.

Yes, this is far from what you would expect from Funkadelic it's far more akin to early Fleetwood Mac or something along those lines, no complaints from me though as I've always loved this track.

Apparently Clinton locked guitarist Eddie Hazel in the studio and demanded he "Play like your mother just died" You be the judge as to whether Hazel did just that.

Truth! May I add that guitarist Eddie Hazel was just 19yrs old and, this incredible, remarkably emotionally powerful, painfully guttural soloing manages to completely pour out every single bit of Hazel's soul in an epic musical statement...a statement performed in one single take one of the greatest guitar solos ever recorded cheers

For that length, I'd probably agree, though there are a couple of shorter ones I like even more, one of which is DeWayne 'Blackbyrd' McKnight's belter at the end of George Clinton's Quickie, which I would also recommend for reaction.

I agree. But you might want to listen to EDDIE HAZEL'S version of THE BEATLES "I WANT YOU". EDDIE pushes the envelope as far as he could on that one also. And with FUNK QUEENS Dawn Silva and Lynn Mabry singing in the background.

Loved the lonely guitar sound with the echo, kinda makes me drift off into the ether, it's kinda like Pink Floyd. Yes, completely unexpected for a funk band and I'm shocked that I haven't heard of them either, cos I love the funk and psychedelic sounds.

I think there's a strong resemblance to the end of side two of Tubular Bells in the chord structure in this.

If I have to ride a Moose up to Canada and beg y'all in person. Will you continue to funk with me and funk up your Friday as well, and react to Funkadelic's "Uncle Jam."

This is a weird one for me. It swings wildly between deeply emotive and precise and random messy noodling, and ultimately there's more of the latter and it ends up being overlong and unsatisfying.
