Used a home made one for years made from two leather bootlaces. Having fun just now up-rating it by making wooden ‘spacers’ on my Little Taig lathe, and adding in an Acetal spool carrier (also made on the lathe) to fit into it. Yours looks good, but I like home made best of all! Les in UK

Love it Alex. Started with a vest too and have moved to a round the neck pack that can be worn on the hip or front. Having the floatant and little container on the front is an awesome idea. I also have a pair of forceps on a zinger too... most useful tool on mine. Great vid as always dude. Cheers bro. 👍

Good video Alex. I have scaled down my gear to the bare minimum and the one pet hate is fly box’s without some type of anchoring point on them. On a cold winter morning its easy to fumble a box and drop it in the water and watch it rapidly disappearing down river, I tie my own flies and the thought of days of effort put into all that work gives me nightmares. You have a good rig set up, easy to pick up everything in one go. For me your rig has too much jingle and rattle and for an ex soldier it would get on my nerves. I agree with you to keeping everything together. Thanks for all your effort I still learn something from you Harera.

Tnx I think anything that incorporates the use of para cord, In other materials that are spongy are worth having around your neck. Using little swivels is also a genius move. I believe any idea that you could incorporate that makes you more comfortable will keep you intrested in the sport. Again thanks for your help and concept, lanyards have endless possibilities and uses.

hmmm not to sure about lanyards, i prefer to have all my gear squared away in a vest, plus ya can stash a raincoat in the back as well as ya lunch lol. I too am an ex soldier and to have a bunch of stuff rattling and glinting in the sunlight would bug me plus moving through the bush it may have a tendency to get hooked up on stuff, same with hip packs to bulky and cumbersome, with a vest i can secure my landing net to the D ring at the back and my telescopic alloy wading pole as well.....old school i guess Alex, old dog new tricks etc lmao.

I generally stow the lanyard in my hip pack when Bush bashing and don’t find any of it cumbersome, although i get why people don’t like them. There’s so much gear out there, everyone can find what works for them aye. Different strokes for different folks👍

after 30 odd years of trying different systems I just put my fly box, floatant, appropraiate leader for the river and a small pair of scissors in my pocket. u don't even notice its there and u really don't need anything else. personally that lanyard would drive me nuts and u don't even use most those leaders so why have them banging around every trip u go on?
