I like to think that the first song is actual Senpai, the second song is him (and the girls in the background) being changed by the demon trapped there, and the third is him breaking out of Senpai. Basically, Senpai is innocent, and the dramatic change in atmosphere seems more believable

I like to imagine that Senpai is sincerely a nice person for song 1, which is originally meant to set up the premise of the game where you get your gf back. When that goes wrong, Roses acts as a failsafe to make sure that you lose so that the game gets back on track. This is being broken by the prisoner, who takes angry senpai sprites meant for the final levels and tries to break free. When the bf manages to bypass that too, the game is corrupted by the prisoner, resulting in thorns.
