When I was a university student in the early 1990s, the "cool" part of Queen Street ended just west of Spadina Avenue. From there things got increasingly sketchy. The Drake and Gladstone hotels were dives back then. But as the years passed, the formerly cool part of Queen Street became increasingly corporate, and the "cool" part moved into the former "dive" part. The center of coolness migrated to Bathurst and later to Ossington. The CB2 Furniture store was once a three-level dance club called "The Big Bop." The Chill Room area on the third floor was lit by black light, and festooned with couches. By the time Ossington became cool I was a married man in my mid-30s and what I was "with" was no longer "It." And now it is happening to you. :)

23:09-Sanko's been a traditional part of Queen West since the 1970's (I remember seeing ads for it on CFMT TV [Channel 47] back in the 1980's as a youth.) 23:41-I used to shop a lot at the Silver Snail back when it was at the corner of Queen & SoHo; it looked much amazing back then at that location.

try doing this in power wheelchair, I have, its a nightmare, also 90% of the small businesses are NOT wheelchair accessible, dont even bother trying. also if you look closely, all the {on street patios) you will notice that restaurants have covered the ramps with tables & other stuff! I ride in bike lanes when possible, to avoid all the Sidewalk 'Clutter'..

If we do stick with the sidewalk patios post-covid I think they could certainly be implemented in a manner that's more accessible and less "in the way" for everyone. Cheers

I think the ones in Montreal that are black with the reflective strip look much better and are probably equally effective? The concrete barriers could use some reflective strips and ideally would be painted in colourful art.

Dear Mr. Johnny Strides.... Once upon Vlogger Time.... Johnny is Toronto's Vlogger.... The Flat-Tire Bandit in cahoots with Spatula-Man managed to gum-up all the wheels on the subway by using Mahagick Bubblegum... The wheels were gummy and sticking to the tracks and Spatula-Man began to giggle as he used the tool of evil trade, The Spatula, and began to flip over the train.... But the Mahagick Bubblegum was so gummy that it grabbed hold of The Spatula and would not let go.... Flat-Tire Bandit and Spatula attempted.... They pulled together.... OMG!!... The train fell upon them and they became trapped.... Johnny recorded the entire event.... Once the subway was freed, the Vlogger-Police founded the troublemakers rolled up sausages, wrapped inside the Mahagick Bubblegum... Good work, Johnny... The Flat-Tire Bandit and his accomplice, Spatula-Man are now at Toronto's 52-Division in the Mahagick Department.... "Yeah, Mr. Wizard, can you work a miracle and unroll these two sausages?" the Arresting Officer Asked.... "Hurry up, I gotta go pee!" Flat-Tire Bandit shouted..... "I got an idea.... Sasquatch, come here!" ..... "Sasquatch, eat the Bubblegum!"..... "The Police Chief hired a Sasquatch?!" the Arresting officer asked..... "Yeah, thought it would make good public relationships!" ..... The End.... Always in Good Taste.... CHEERS!! ...... Be Supportive and Subscribe..... Check out Johnny Stumbles.... "Sasquatch, don't eat the legs or arms, I don't want you to be infected by their coodies!"

If it weren't pitiful ,it would be laughable . People in Toronto have absolutely no idea what "nightlife " means and I'm not asking you to compare with Mediterranean cities ( that would be heresy) but something much closer to home : Montreal would put you yo shame in an instant!
