@@Gideon13397 The 2000's are widely regarded as the low point in slasher history, so that's not a very good standard to try and meet, and honestly it was bad even by those standards. Uninspired kills, continuing the least liked Jason design, a cast comprised of completely forgettable and unlikable meat bags that only exist to get killed (we're also stuck with them for the movie), bad effects, a complete non-plot, and an ending that just happens because apparently the movie got bored and decided to cut to credits even though the active conflict is literally ongoing and nothing whatsoever has been resolved. The opening credits could've literally been the ending credits and nothing would've changed besides the body count, in no way is that a decent slasher film from any era.

Which begs the question why didn’t they tell Pamela.

@@Doctor_Odin It was suggested at the start of the movie that the weed they are going to find is their friends. @grantmoore82284 жыл бұрын
Trust me when I say I'm by no means a major Friday the 13th fan but I think why some people hate this movie is because it's too generic. Yeah a lot of the same things happen in the other movies but the other movies had a girl with psychic powers, a copycat killer, a trip to New York, Jason possessing people who eat his heart and going to outer space. Those things weren't always good but they did try to change the formula up from movie to movie. This remake however is straight up as standard a Friday the 13th film you can find. I guess it goes back to the classic mantra "if you aren't going to do anything new with a movie then why remake it at all?"
@vistea14 жыл бұрын
What Grant pretty much said. The sequels for Friday the 13th at least would do a gimmick to differentiate themselves from the first couple movies like part 3 being 3-D, or a new person becomes Jason in Part 5. This one is just Jason stabbing people with his machete in the woods like parts 1 and 2.

@@Shanethefilmmaker it wouldn't hold up in court, no verbal warnings to leave the property, plus the law you are talking about sates that the property owner has to be in a structure{house} that law states "kill" not "anything" ontop of that you need reasonable suspicion they are attempting to commit a crime .An the campers can say they had no idea they were on anyone's land a fair case on a large wooded property, Jason has not stated they are on his land an then proceeds to kill them one at a time. not out of fear or protection of his land(which is necessary to be legal) but straight hunting them, an especially if the bodies are recovered an they see the gruesome way they all went out it would be clear to see that they were trying to run an save there own lives. You cannot hunt people who end up on your property , under these circumstances Jason would be charged with murder .

I have to agree: Trent kind of ruined this film (though his girly scream when he died almost made it worth it), but the hyper stylized look didn’t help either. Look, I love BLADE RUNNER as much as any art film aficionado (unless you’re name is Susan), but you still have to “see” what you’re looking at. When everything is dark, contrasty and selectively lighted, it just wears you out after a while. The lack of nudity didn’t help either (though that scene (at 15:44) in the bathroom still makes me laugh. The girl goes in, and the window sill is open maybe 6 inches with knickknacks on the sill... yet _somehow_ Jason got through it _and_ hid in the shower. The mask finding scene is really weird because the creators and interviews talk about how they Wanted to tackle moments from the previous movies that was their whole motivation for making this reboot And one of the moments they're most excited for was he creating a scenario for him to find the mask only for the movie to just have him find it out of nowhere no unique story to it nothing memorable about it you'll forget in a week how that character got the mask

Not a terrible reimagening. I do feel they play it a bit to straight and gritty. I didnt get that from the earlier films. On the question if Mears was ready to play Jason he said no worries i have dad issues. Not sure if that is reassuring Jason had mom issues.

So while the Snob sits miserably in front of the TV watching bad movies and jotting down sarcastic remarks, our main man Lloyd sits quietly in the next room, watches a shitty Emergency show and edits out his favourite Wtf scene?? Travis Van Winkle is playing the same character “Trent Demarco” from the 2007 Transformers movie. So that means this exists in the same universe as Bayformers.

What’s sad is I believe Rob Zombie would have done much better if he remade Friday the 13th rather than Halloween. The Michael actor is the perfect size for Jason. I think having a Zombie condensed remake of the first three movies would be fun and entertaining. And if it sucks, couldn’t be worse than Part 8 or 9

I like to imagine that this movie and Transformers take place in the same universe as Van Winkle's character is called Trent in both movies
@taylorhensel40444 жыл бұрын
It does technically. Michael Bay's production company Platinum Dunes released F13 '09, and someone said in an interview that they operated under the assumption that Van Winkle was playing the same Trent from "Transformers," just in an R-rated film.
