Rob Zombie writing his first horror movie: "What if EVERY character was Ethel from Friday 5?"

😂😂😂 Fuck Yes! Greatest observation ever!
@drpibisback76803 жыл бұрын
@@systematic11 Given that senseless brutality and wacky stunts and characters are pretty much all the later Friday movies had going for them, Rob Zombie probably could have done them better than Halloween. A movie like Jason Takes Manhattan (Or as I call it, Jason Takes The Ferry) done as self-aware lo-fi trash horror would be way better than the bloodless, underwritten borefest it ended up. Obviously some of that's the time period, but still - Rob Zombie's directing is all filthy, gritty style over substance, pretty much what all the late Friday films wanted to do but were too cut down and poorly done to actually nail it.
@systematic113 жыл бұрын

James' logic about the dream kills actually makes perfect sense. Life and death are usually defined by presence and absence, especially when it comes to kill counting. When something is in a state of living, and then that state is changed to one of absence, then they are put on the kill count (with notable exceptions for things like zombie movies). In addition to that, a state of life could be defined as a typical existence within a context--the "normal state" of a character. You wouldn't count a TV death of an actor who is a character, because their life is outside of the context of the TV. HOWEVER, the two dream kill victims are only alive within the context of the dream--their normal state is in the context of the dream. That life is then removed within the same context, with no sense that they ever show up again in a more "real" context. In contrast, Pam is alive irl, and has a "more real" life than the one taken away by dream tommy.

It really shows that James has worked a lot on this one. From the "perfection" cosplay to the random humor like "honk" to the massive amount of behind the scenes fotage. It is just amazing. Thank you James!!

@@TheYoungDoctor Could go either way. The first film did say "From the Files of Police Squad!" in acknowledgement so one could argue the origins are implicit, though, admittedly, most people only know by way of the films.

The lady who played Ethel is actually someone who worked at the Shakespeare Theatre for a long time. She’s a classically trained Shakespearean actress

Really wish Demon and Anita could have survived, would have been a good final couple. If partners can duet through a mega steamer together, they deserve nothing but mercy.

That would've been so revolutionary 😆

R.I.P. Carol Locatell. Your role as Ethel helped make this movie as memorable as it was, and in my eyes, you were the most interesting character in this installment alongside Junior. Rest easy.

What's awesome about Miguel A Nunez is that he filmed this movie along with Return of the Living Dead while he was homeless. Horror is a saving grace.

I love how James has a different script rather than word for word. 2 prime examples are in a forgotten her name but the one James likes. And also that Roy looked upset about Joey's death

I found this to be the funniest Kill Count of all time! The Magneto meme… It felt like even James found this one particularly funny to make. The laugh at “dildo slop house” was *perfection*

If you ever do a series of timeline videos, I suggest 'Decomposition' as a title. The stages of decomp is basically a timeline of dead meat, a break down of the gore from start to finish.

Love this recount! The side characters are so memorable in this film. I love Ethel, Reggie, and Demon! My favorite Nunez role is the live-action Scooby-Doo movie. His interaction with Daphe is fun: "Here's a clue. Purple is a fall color. It's the middle of May!"
