This movie offered a rare glimpse into the true mind of John Kramer, and really brought humanity to him for, at least in my opinion, the first time. Every actor did a fantastic job, and every kill was amazingly done, even if there weren't as many kills as I was expecting there to be, which may have actually been in the film's favor as it offered more time to bring the humanity and honesty to John and his story. Great video as always, James! Keep it up!

Right and proved why he technically lost it. He was betrayed and manipulated at his very lowest and thats even after what happened to his son and the other movie plots. It also shows why he has less sympathy for players later on becausethey are "soft" compred to these people in the game and their will to live. It explains why he also assumes they will all fail now because "its their nature andits doesnt change". Like with Cecelia or with Amanda, maybe after this she felt it wasnt fair for others to win the games because Gabriella still lost? Or it made her think no one deserves to survive more than Gabriella? I used to think Amanda's motivation was that she and Hoffman were jealous of eachother being able to "beat/win" the game. Ngl, this franchise is so complex and would be a great horror convo over wine lol 😅

Not the end result (clearly good work by the crew and writers), but it bothers me that creators have to expend so much creativity to do advertisers jobs for them on top of their own work. There's a reason this kind of sponsored content got phased out in TV and movies decades ago and just constantly reminds me of how little respect online creators get still.

This was everything I could’ve wanted and more in a Saw movie. A story with an actual soul instead of an excuse for the violence, simple and efficient character development, and a surprising amount of emotional gravitas. I also like how the antagonists are the worst of the worst, so the violence actually feels pretty justified as it’s easy to not really feel any empathy towards them. And of course, seeing Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith back as John and Amanda being front and center for the first time was a delight. I really hope we see a follow up to this still set before the second movie as well.

Important point about the eyeball trap - It is the ultimate proof that Jigsaw ultimately LIKES to see them lose. He may be disappointed, but deep down, he WANTS them suffering and dying. We know this because, when he sees someone he thinks would be a good target for a trap, his mental image of how it plays out is them taking the most painful way of solvingt he problem, and failing. Because like he said, killing is DISTASTEFUL. So he has to construct the whole redemption narrative to justify his desire to do it.

I have rarely been as excited in a movie theatre as I was when Cecilia and Parker got trapped in the upstairs room and Hello Zepp started playing. Fuckin awesome plot twist with an even more awesome soundtrack!

I remember after seeing it in theaters, me and my friend talking about how ridiculous it was that everyone got 3 minutes in their traps. "I might as well just die i guess" 😂

I once told my mom that I was always intrigued by Jigsaw’s traps. I had to quickly explain that I was intrigued by the engineering aspect of it and not that I actually approved of the fact that they were being used to kill or harm people. I don’t know if she’s still concerned about it, and I still think about that to this day…

You do NOT talk too much about how John is a hypocrite. Also, I really liked this one, but any scene where John was afraid or sad really hurt me because he reminded me so much of my grandpa who I was raised by and who passed away earlier this year. Man I miss him.
