What a wonderful idea to make the pet mats! I love that. The tissue box was unique and cute. The grommet idea is sleek looking and seems like it would be easier to pull a tissue through it than the hemmed slit style. Fun mail from Carole. I never realized you lived in her neck of the woods! Hi Lisa! I've never actually lived in England -- although I Hdid it consider it years ago. I have friends who live in Bournemouth and I have visited several times throughout the years. I love the history of the area. Last time I went over was just before the pandemic. I would love to go again but I'm afraid I just might not be able to travel such a distance any longer. Hope you're enjoying a wonderful holiday season!

I think you summed it all up -- sewing those pet mats did put us in a true spirit of Christmas. These pet mats will be given to anyone adopting a cat or dog from the shelter. I am truly blessed with a comfortable life; a loving husband; and good friends. Enjoy the rest of your holidays! The instructor has volunteered at the local shelter for several years and does this sort of thing every Christmastime especially so that a pet mat goes with every dog or cat adopted over the holiday season. Lovely gifts but I must say when you said you know, when you make these tissue boxes, I laughed at myself. Girlfriend I have never made a tissue box in my entire life. Don’t get me wrong. I’d love to learn, but you make everything seem so simple. Mine would probably turn out to be a mess. Anyway, I hope you had a wonderful holiday.

Oh, I bet you would do a fine job, Dee. I would struggle through the pattern directions if I were to try to make this on my own. That's why I enjoy taking sewing classes at a fabric store nearby where I have an instructor to help when I get stuck. That keeps me going...
