Hi Miss Talli Faye! This is a great one. I think the sugar idea is wonderful. My momma always made mustard greens. I watch alot of southern cooks and they stew collards a long time. I love thus quick and easy fry. Yum and tks. Karla in Cali.

Oh,I know they are good, I’m from the South also and I fry my cornbread just in oil, I mix cornbread, salt, buttermilk and water and then I spoon it up with a spoon. Is that how you fry yours? I enjoy your videos so much your so down to earth.

Now you just taught me a whole lot, Talli Faye! I have fried cabbage instead of boiling it, and it is much more tasty when compared to boiling; but it has never dawned on me to do the same with collard greens. Plus, adding bacon and onion this way is something new to try, as well. And I'm surprised that you did't apply a lid while cooking, with collard greens being kinda tough. Many thanks for the explore! Y'all have a Blessed day 🌞

I do a package of bacon ends and pieces the same way, quarter it and freeze.... The bacon ends and pieces seem to have a better flavor than a regular package of bacon to me. I love frying the bacon and onions like you did for this recipe and using for green beans and new potatoes.

The great thing about Collard greens is 3 plants can feed a lot of people for along time. Thank You Talli. Great way to fix them and that sweet pepper sauce is a great Idea. I put a table spoon full or a couple, of sweet white wine in with them. It will make you smack you grand ma.

Miss Talli, I am not familiar with a box of bacon ends and pieces. Are they sold out by the pork near ham hocks) or near the bacon. I’m in Maryland and the bacon is with all the brands/flavors of bacon, whereas the ham hocks, if available I will find near where pork roast and chops are. Maybe I will ask someone in the meat department! Thank you.
