Growing up my neighbors on my street were all Greeks and Italians, and we were all friends... 30 years later my street is still all Greeks and Italians only difference is now we're all family lol ... Everyones kids married each other lol... You haven't been to a wedding till you go to a Greek Italian wedding!!!.. and as for the next generation of kids on my street 50% 🇬🇷 + 50% 🇮🇹 = 100% Perfection ... A beautiful disaster!

Our old neighbors loved watering the concrete and the growing of tomatoes and cucumbers. They loved watching us kids playing backyard cricket. But god forbid we hit a 6 over the fence into their veggie patch... You'd either never see that ball again or you'd end up with the ball and 3 plastic bags of cucumbers brought around the next day. No in between.

We used to do this in our multiethnic neighborhood and all would laugh because everybody had something funny to tease about. Then the comments got nasty or hurtful. Someone would ruin it. I lived with this type of attitude for 30 yrs and yes it was hard and my ex husband is Iranian which is pretty much the same attitude we see here but the ability to laugh at your past is also important and my oldest girl can imitate him exactly and he doesn't know....and she is very good at this.
