Foresty for the intermittent electrical gremlins: In many if not most cases, gremlins like you describe are caused by faulty ground(s). Since you say after driving through water you get the fault with good consistency, I would crawl under the vehicle and inspect all the battery to engine grounds, the engine to frame grounds and the body to frame grounds. The manual will describe all of the grounds, of which there are many. Really look at all of them and clean and wire brush connections and also replace any old or suspect looking grounding cables (use dielectric grease to help prevent future corrosion after cleaning). And even add grounding cables in various locations to help ensure there is a solid ground to the system that seems most affected. If ABS and traction control are the ones acting up the most, then look on an electrical schematic and try to determine where its ground(s) comes from. Once you identify it, run your own ground straight from the battery and to the module (or its sensors etc) to see if that helps. If it doesn't help, it may be some other system that ABS/Traction control relies upon that is not getting a good ground. Just ground the hell out of everything one by one and see if it makes the problem go away. It won't hurt anything and it may very well help. Otherwise, it could be a connector that is not hermetically sealed and water is getting into it during the wet driving conditions you describe. You can run simple experiments when you are not in the woods with a water spray bottle (or maybe with a garden hose or at a carwash etc). Experiment by spraying water on various locations you suspect may be possible trouble areas (which means grounds and connectors). Then drive around and see what happens. Pretty easy to do and you may discover a consistent cause and effect relationship allowing to really zero in on the culprit once and for all. Lastly, and this may not be easily accomplished depending on how buried the connectors are, but try disconnecting the various connectors and inspect for "pushed" pins or sockets. Pins and sockets have locking tabs that keep them into position within the connector. With the connector disconnected, you can press on each socket and pin with a pointy tool (being careful not to short any 2 pins, best to do this with power off and battery disconnected or use a non-conductive pointy tool). Sometimes they fail or were never fully locked into place at the factory. They may have made good enough of a connection for the first few years of the van but eventually deteriorate with corrosion or looseness where the connection becomes intermittent and vulnerable to vibration and moisture. If possible, check continuity between each connector "end-to-end" on each wiring harness. Flex the connector and wires while you check continuity. Go pin-to-pin, socket-to-socket etc for each and every one, starting with the system that seems affected most (ABS/traction in your case). Be on the lookout that sometimes the sockets and pins are still locked into place inside their connectors, but you have a pulled wire inside the insulation that is not visible externally (you can often feel a pulled wire through the insulation though). If the wires and connectors are buried deep within the guts of the van, these types of tests may not be easily doable. But after you exhaust all of the easier things described above and there's still no remedy, it's the deep dive you may need to do. If nothing else, at least check the connectors that are easy to access. You may get lucky and one of those connectors will be the culprit. Good luck brother, keep the epic videos coming.

Not as stunning as the Lyells, but when I day-hiked up Kololo solo in the Glacier Peak wilderness in summer 2013 I probed every step with my ice ax. It was all non-ablated snow on the low angle Suiattle Glacier. I knew it was foolish but I was young, suicidal, and held that peak in a special place in my heart for its view of the Glacier Peak volcano and surrounding wilderness that I had visited many times and proud to see from my home. You could say I was somewhat motivated by nihilism and escaping into the sublime simultaneously. Caught a few potential buried crevasses forcing lateral traverses and survived my stunt making my summit and carefully retracing my steps to exit the glacier before the scorching heat of the afternoon. Stunning as the deep blue icefields, shimmering waterfalls, and cliffs were, I could feel the reserved hostility in the place, patiently waiting for my fatal mistake. By 5pm I was soaking my feet in the Sauk river, not glad to be alive, but surrendering to the universe which should have taken my life and just bathing in awe at its graciousness. Years later I got news of an experienced climbing friend taking a fatal fall into a hidden crevasse on that very glacier because they chose not to rope up. Made sure to rope up for every glacier afterwards and can't view that mountain with as much endearment anymore. Glad you at least discussed glacier travel with the crew before setting out. Been enjoying your videos for years and hope to see more for years to come. Be safe up there Foresty!

Thanks! That's truly a magnificent slice of Nature! Gorgeous views! Glad you have the strength to Say No to tough Summits. In Ed Viesturs great book No Shortcuts to the Top, Ed mentions how on one of his many (?) No oxygen solo Everest Summits he got within 100 ft of the summit once, took a look at that too delicate snow pack and said NOPE and went back down. On other occasions overly enthusiastic climbers met grisly ends when pushing past "Sensible" limits. One man's Last Words were "It's Just Mount Rainier..." A peak that has claimed around 90 climbers over the last century and a quarter btw. PS - Rocko's the best Mtn dog alive! Glad she got 'er paw fixed up and a good rest for all.
