Many thanks for this wonderful officer, child and story. I'm 68 and loved our school police officer who visited on especially days like vaccination days. Everybody loved seeing him and his smile he created calm. It was a different side to my uncle that I never knew until then. People are amazing.

So good! My hubby was a cop for many years..and for a few..was a Dare officer at elementary schools. The kids were awsome! This was such a special story..and one which elevates what some people think of police officers.

I too say GOD BLESS THIS OFFICER. She does not have to communicate with words to say what is on her heart. (words will come) It shows. She looks so relaxed knowing she has someone she feels comfortable with and who she can rely on when away from her parents and home. BLESSINGS!

Glad he gets to feel respected for once . Reminds me of my old recess teacher who everyone hated cause she was strict ,except for one autistic girl who spent every recess talking with her . Being mildly autistic myself , if I wasn’t able to make friends I could only hope a role model would step in.

Silly question probably for most ( and this is a beautiful story), but why do schools have police officers?, I live in ireland so this would not be the norm here at all. I know some schools might have security officers in some countries but actual police officers and this looks to be a primary school so quite young children.
