A McDonald's manager in Lewisville gave Derrick Mounter an opportunity after a couple found him on the side of the road in below-freezing weather.

@@greekreThere are thousands and thousands of people that DO NOT have a single living relative. That's just the way it is. He has been extremely fortunate. Most apartment complexes limit the number of days that people can have visitors. Sometimes it is as little as a week so people can't let anyone stay or they could get an eviction notice that they can't afford. So, they may want to help by letting someone sleep on their couch and use the tenant's address while looking for a job, but it can't be done.

It doesn’t matter where and for whom a person works for as long it’s enough to earn a decent living. May not be much but it can be a start, a blessing and room to grow, not every single person walks on the same path. Just because it happened for one person doesn’t mean it should have be the same for you…get over with that me, me, me…what about me crying stuff, not everything have to be all about you. MAKES ME THINK OF MY OWN SITUATION. I have three college degrees and was a restaurant and logistics consultant over 20 years. I am very good at what I do and work very hard. Covid hit and now no one feels they want or need someone like me, no matter how hard I sell myself or low ball my compensation. I am stuck working 3 jobs above but close to minimum wage. I work 7 days a week, going from one job to another each day and I take a half day on Sunday. I am blessed that I have a 20+ year old decent car that is paid for and a house that is paid for but it is just me. My electric has been off since October and I am still trying to get my property tax out of delinquent status before they decide they want my house. Let me tell you, the struggle is absolutely real !! I am so thankful I have my health so I can work this hard. Things could be a lot worse.

How much is your electric bill and property tax??? I work one job at 81 cents over minimum wage and I'm able to pay all of my bills comfortably with one roommate. @landofdragons405511 ай бұрын
@AdelineCowgirl that may be your situation. We don't know "all" the details of OP's financial obligations(Op may have debt, students loans, helping family, etc). They may live in New England where taxes and utilities are typically high. Moving may not be financially feasible. Maybe in a high cost state where the job in his field is. The 3 jobs may be temporary until they land something... We don't know, nor is it any of our business. There should be no judgment here...
