I really think that most-if not all- hospitals do this. I live in Mphs, TN and all of them here do that. It's nice to be in one when it goes off because everyone pauses for a moment and smiles.

My military hospital announces their birth with the ringing of 4 bells on the following noon. 4 bells are traditionally used to signal the arrival and departure of the ship's captain, a flag officer, or other dignitaries. This story is a heart warmer. When I first saw him as a baby, he reminded me so much of my son, whose now 42, my firstborn. It took me all the way back, to looking at him like a miracle. It was hard to comprehend how this baby had formed, in me. I would lie next to him, gazing at him, and his little hands, for hours. But this story also reminded me of a recent talk I had with God. I had grew up just loving everybody, that was my nature, but encountering conflicts in adult life, I told God I was tired of black and white issues, and I just wanted to love everybody, again. So this story was so very heartwarming, to see. A very beautiful story.

What an absolutely beautiful family, and such a precious name for a gorgeous shining star of a boy! Kingston James, you are so loved. This story reminds me of July 2, 2023, as I sat bedside with my parents while my little sister was dying. I had taken a coffee break and was headed up to my sisters room again when out of the elevator came a new mama and her precious newborn baby girl. I stopped and asked her name, congratulated the mama, and we shared a few tears. I missed the elevator my mom took up, because I just had a feeling I was supposed to stop and take comfort in the beauty and hope of new life. As soon as I got back up to my sister’s room, within minutes, she took her last breath. I whispered to her that there was a brand new baby girl who could use an angel, and that I would take care of sissy’s children forever. Bless you, Kingston James and family.
