I love Faya's attitude! "That's what it means to be a horse girl" re: wet knees! When we moved to our farm, our daughter was SO disappointed that the horse barn didn't come with a horse. She was only 4 at the time. Later, aged 9 to 12, she really wanted a horse. I agreed with some conditions. Because I am very afraid of horses, she would have to do ALL the work and look after the horse. We signed up for pony club at a local stable where, yes, they get to ride, but before they ride they have to clean stalls or tack and after they ride they have to do stable work also. We also sent her to horse camp for one summer. After three years of this, she decided, wisely, that she didn't want to own a horse. She would rather go riding occasionally than have to care for a horse every day. I told her that she was very smart to learn this about herself and very kind to any horse that she may have purchased then lost interest in. Being a Horse Girl is *not* a hobby, it is a way of life.

Faya does a good job grooming Johnny. Johnny is a cool, cuddly dude. We all love him. Faya has a big privilege and we get to watch her. The tail hair for Therrie in Alabama is a nice gesture. Had to laugh when Sjors offered his to highest bidder. Very funny stable crew. We love Gertje too. She takes care of everybody, it seems. Faya is lucky to have such a talented, great mom. Just a little tidbit of information. When you are sending well wishes to someone who is chronically ill, it's so much nicer to say "Feel Better Soon". We will always have good days and bad days and feeling better means a better day. When we hear get well soon, well, we know we will never get well. We will always be sick to some extent. Yes, we acknowledge and appreciate the sentiment. It's just nicer to look forward to a better day than to think about how we will never be "well". Pass it on.

Johnny is sooo enjoying his grooming and Faya is doing so well with learning how to groom her - well, pony at this point. However, as she grows, I think this may change into grooming her horse...🙂. Finally, I love seeing the foals. The babies are always my favorite. They are naughty out there. Sanne seems to be the boss which is interesting. It looks like Pieter and RS are friends and RS seems to get along best with Sanne and Reina. And most interesting of all, there is Sjors hanging close to RS. It is wonderful to see the kids working with the horses so much. I was wondering if they have specific chores they are responsible for in the barn or with the horses or do they seek things to do on their own? I loved it when Faye said about being a horse girl! She is learning from the best and never looks like her work is a “chore”. Being a therapist that works with arm problems, I can see why you deal with tennis elbow so much. Hopefully you can get some stretches and ice in throughout your days….especially on grooming days. Keep up the great videos!

@@LindaEll89 I’ve noticed how Faya and Rein Jr are both so devoted to their interest in horsemanship-it’s so refreshing. It’s very unlike the intensely scheduled kids I see in America, being shuttled from soccer to ballet to cheerleading, etc-like it’s a job. Or the other extreme of couch potato kids who never see the sun and live on screen time, then grow up too fast immersed in pop culture. Faya and Rein Jr both seem so kind and gentle, and have a genuine interest and passion that’s coming from *them*, not pushed by the adults around them. Being around animals and the healthy Friesian countryside, and learning how to care for creatures that depend upon us to care for them is such a great learning environment for young minds.

Such lovely light outside at the end. Idyllic! It would be really interesting to know how you tell the horses apart. I used to have horses and know from experience it becomes easy, but I've only started watching the channel in the last few months (since Rising Star!) and I rely on you naming them all to know them apart. Perhaps you could do a video on how you identify each one? Thanks for all your hard work with this - it's such a joy to be part of a horsey community again, especially with my favourite breed of horse!

Well Yvonne, another great video. I really do enjoy seeing Faya around the horses and ponies, you can really tell that she loves doing what she's doing. She is very good at braiding the horses manes. When mom pointed to Faya's knees in the dirt , Faya replied "Yes, but that's part of being a horse girl!" What a lovely and beautiful girl! I have never heard it explained better than that! Indeed horse work can get dirty, but what price to pay for the love of a horse! I hope and wish that many dirty knees will bring Faya a most successful future that she will turn into a fantastic horse woman!

Johnny always seem to simply adore Faya and will let her do anything to him without a complaint. She made his hooves look so good and how she braids his mane is wonderful you can see in his posture he is loving all the attention she gives him.
