Is it bad that every time I see Walou I fangirl a little? idk how the non-Friesian became one of my favorite horses in the Friesian channel, but she did. She looks so beautiful! and that rearing! The story Rein told is honestly terrifying, especially knowing that Uniek had given up :( So glad both her and Elsje were fine! Also also, I quite enjoy Rein being on screen a little more! I have followed you since the day Uniek an Rising Star met. I grew up on a mixed farm in Ireland, milking cows, beef cattle, crops, fowl and horses. I was so happy to see them bond. Alas I emigrated many years ago to a city in North America.I have not ridden since. Mostly working 2 jobs and bringing up my children. However today was so amazing to meet the Landrover people and they videoed you. It was you and Queen Uniek that made me cry, she just took it in her stride, standing so regally. Congratulations to you all. I am so in love with all the horses especially Peter ( he’s had to make new friends) and Rising Star ( I mean of the young horses). You and everyone are wonderful Yvonne. One and Only, this video is super special. Growing up, most of the vehicles around were LandRovers. Just like the one in the video. You can't find them anymore. They are worth their weight in dollars! They are rare because they used to make them with aluminium, and aluminium can't be repaired but it also doesn't rust. I intend to visit Friesland in the near future, but this video is super fantastic. Thank you, and thanks to Master Rein.

When my horse sunk to his belly, I was only14, and very frightened. It was long before cell phones. It took much encouragement and heavy effort by my horse to get out. You can never forget the moment when you are riding along, and all of a sudden, your feet are touching the ground.

Those wide open meadows are HUGE! So many acres (hectares) of open space! For years I lived in a part of the US that is flat like that (Louisiana) but there are also trees, so it is not so open. I knew almost nothing about The Netherlands and Friesland before finding these videos. Thank you for introducing me to the language, the people, the culture, and the horses!

Wow, Walou looks like a Lipizzaner horse! Beautiful. Nice to see Uniek wearing her crown for this outing. She did very well, considering that mishap Yvonne talked about. Sounds really scary, I would not have gone into the water again, either. Plus, cannot risk Uniek being upset now that she's pregnant. The Friesian waterways are beautiful in the fog, with the sun showing through. Very mysterious, with the horizon almost invisible. I love Rein's Friesland promotion. His English is very good!

@@lisajoyaslanis - it is a position from classical dressage (but not current, competitive dressage) where the horse rears up, and holds that position, putting all his weight on the crouching back legs. Only the strongest stallions can accomplish this. The Lippizaners still do this in their performances. It came from ancient fighting techniques, and allowed the warrior to be raised up even higher - and to put the horse between himself and his attacker, as a shield. 😣

Rein's story reminds of a dream I had not too long ago. I was riding a horse beside some water and we sunk in. We got out, luckily, and my mind must've known it was a dream since I felt no fear. I rode an Icelandic horse in the woods around my family's cottage . as a bit far off I rode on a seemingly dried out moss .Suddenly the horse sunk until my feet, I jumped off onto a wooden plank and to shout at her -go-go-go!! She struggled herself out ,back on the solid ground . Then too exhausted to go up a slope I walked her slowly back until she became brisk again. I say I was glad no one was pushing us like some barnbiches could do
