This is actually a really useful video. I just got my first front-load washer and the way it stops spinning and starts again at various times made me think it was broken and I had a hard time finding an unedited video of how an FL washer is supposed to run.

When I was a kid we had one of those, it used to scare me but now it doesn’t unfortunatelyMy house burned down when I was a teen? And it would be the same thing it would scare me when I was a little kid. I come to find out it is a normal thing and these washing machines? They are better made then the top loader my parents now have But it is still better going to the laundromat I guess.
@jbooks88811 жыл бұрын
Another nice thing about it is that it has a brake on the drum so that if you press pause while spinning, it comes to a stop in about 3 seconds - and then the door unlocks almost immediately. No waiting for minutes or whatever for the get at the clothes. All in all I'm quite happy with this machine. I tend to use a little more soap powder than most people, so you might not need an extra rinse, but most of the cycles can have an extra rinse added with the press of a button. cont

I bought the 10kg 1400rpm model a few days ago and have done maybe 10 loads in it so far. The first thing I noticed is how quiet it was - really quiet. Even when spinning full speed, the noise level wasn't even as loud as the water pump. Yes, it does have water jets that bring the water up and come down over the clothes. It uses very little water, and I feel it necessary to give an extra rinse. A handy feature is you can just rinse and spin, or just spin or just rinse... cont

PREACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only front loaders i would CONSIDER... and might i STRESS consider is a Speed Queen or Miele and even then, if your laundry really gets dirty, forget it. Well, I just got a new Panasonic 10kg 1400 rpm washer yesterday and am looking forward to many years of hassle free washing. BUT the darned thing, like all of 'em does not use enough water. So it needs an extra rinse, but that's cool because you can do a rinse only or a spin only or a rinse+spin only.

Have you had problems with small clothes or socks getting sucked in the drain pump in the washer stops working? I read somewhere that stated that this has happened to someone four times in 8 months and they had to call the service repair guy to unclog the drain pipe that had a sock or something small stuck in it. Has this happened to you?

In all of my 54 years, I have NEVER seen a laundry that does not have a trough (hand sink) with hot and cold running water, AS WELL AS hot and cold taps on the wall for a washer. You're going to have to do better than that!
@jbooks88811 жыл бұрын
Just add a little extra water with a hose through the detergent drawer. It doesn't take much, just enough to see splashing. But let it do 5 minutes first so that the solution will be concentrated and start to bite into the stains. Or add more soap and then do an extra rinse.

I have never had a stain that can't be removed if you use enough powder. But I agree, if you just let the machine do its own thing, without extra chemicals and water, it probably wont do a great job on stains.

My new front loader doesn't sense the load properly, then takes longer to fill than my old front loader. I have found some clothes never got wet in the middle, due to the constant filling & stopping. My last front loader kept filling until the water level was at a certain level, then only filled again if the level dropped. My washer just doesn't fill with enough water. I've had to resort to the bulk cycle, just so more water can be added to a regular load. Even then, it isn't enough.

I have four cats and one them pees all over my towels, so what I do is I wash in very hot water (I fill directly from the trough tap with a hose into the powder drawer, and bypass the cold water altogether) and then I put about 8 scoops (!!!) of powder in. I make the water level a bit higher also and then I have to rinse double or maybe triple - but I get the job done and it is gentle on my towels.

How do I not see any bubbles or water?
@BroccoliBeefed8 жыл бұрын
+Yvan NG , That's why it is H.E. Unlike the old front load washers, the newer ones don't use that much water. Most of the clothes actually get clean by being damp with soapy water and rubbing against each other, as opposed to being dropped in an out of soapy water. The newer method isn't better as the suspended dirt has less space to go. Anyone who knows anything about physics understands this.
@devinaulpheverything3635 жыл бұрын
I had this washer
@BroccoliBeefed11 жыл бұрын
They are all like that. I know it looks strange. But it is enough water to get the clothes clean. I've seen so myself with friends that have these type of washers. That's supposed to be the big whoop-de-do about these washers. They hardly use any water compared to the standard center post agitator type washers, which use about 50% more water per load and don't wash anywhere near as many clothes per load
@Critique80811 жыл бұрын
If you think that an agitator rips clothes, you can use the gentle cycle.
@CruellaUrsula7 жыл бұрын
What? The rinses had less water than the main wash!
@greenmarine510 жыл бұрын
the ONLY nice thing about front loaders is that you only need about a 1/16 cup of detergent to do an oversized load, people use to much detergent in these washers.
@BroccoliBeefed10 жыл бұрын
And then they complain about them malfunctioning
@greenmarine510 жыл бұрын
People don't realize these washers are design to put the detergent into the clothes. It's the rinsing cycles that actually clean your clothes, thus the reason why the rinsing cycles use slightly more water. This is the problem with corporate America, they want you to buy their product but they don't want to properly educate us, hoping we'll break it or misuse the product forcing us to spend more. pitiful
@jbooks88811 жыл бұрын
Also good is that you can do a cold water wash, which can reduce the time taken significantly. There is a 'Quick 50' program which will rush through a load in 50 minutes, then there is a 'Rapid 15' program which does two water fills and a spin after each in fifteen minutes. I definitely recommend this machine, NA-140VG3. Of course, only time will tell if it is a truly great purchase. I hope to get at least 6 or 8 years out of it ???

Videos like these are very helpful to those of us that work in this industry in one capacity or another. We need to be able to give reviews, descriptions to customers, understand the normal operation of a particular model (is it noisy; does it use a lot of water; does this model feature a spray rinse or a static rinse) for repairs or other inquiries, etc. All this is very helpful information for repair, sales, potential customers and gurus and I for one appreciate that I don’t have to look any further than my phone for those answers. Hope that helps.
