This is the 1st video I saw that did not involve pulling the oven away from the wall and working from the back. My old Caloric unit has a similar setup so this was very helpful. Good video!

I'm an appliance technician and I must say you did a pretty good job. A couple of things to add: Be careful when handling the new igniter, they are fragile and can crack easily if you bang it around. Plus the oils on your fingers can cause it to fail prematurely so try not to touch it. Its normal for a new one to smoke a little too.

Well done. A good, clear, and complete overview of the steps needed to test and fix the oven. Great advantages of this approach are (a) reduced cost, which is huge, (b) reduced landfill, by not throwing out the old oven, and (c) better experience going forward with the fixed oven. You have provided me with a great video and except for a few little hicups I was able to replace the lighter properly. I ordered the part a week ago since I had the same problem about 5 years ago and replaced it them. today’s issues were I could not turn off the gas-twist lever was stuck and I did not want to take a sledge hammer to it. So I proceeded with caution. I tried to remove the front doors and one screw slot scraped out the head threads-so I left them. After watching you I realized I did not have to go behind the stove except to unplug the electric. Working under the oven behind the bottom draw was a tough squeeze so I tilted the stove backwards after pulling it out 2 ft and stuck the draw under it for support. The electric splice caps from the last time were there so I used them. All went smooth and I did a test before closing up. Finally I took note to wait for everything to cool down before return the flame guard. A job well done. Thanks for your video. Time to back some potatoes and grill some chops. Ed

Just fixed my own oven. I am almost 70, took me an hour and I didn't order the part over night, so it took two days, but got it done just now, and it works again. This video was a big help. Thank you......the only comment I would make, be sure and push the new wire through the silicone sleeve before hooking together the saddle connector or you only have it on ONE wire. I know a common sense issue, but when you aren't used to doing this, you have to learn by your mistakes. I had to unconnect my saddle connector and thread the new wire through that little silicone sleeve.....

Thank you sir! Your video was extremely helpful in figuring out why it took forever to get up to temperature... I probably left a little extra wire on so not as to ‘cut myself short’ my stove looked different on the outside but almost identical inside ours is a Frigidaire Classic Series ... thanks again and God bless !

I have almost the same I got a new part put it in It work but then it shut off and it hasn’t work since the problem we had before that the oven would turn on me then after a while was shut off automatically it will still stay it’s cooking and everything but it stopped heating the gas to turn off and the igniter will be off and it stay off and only cook stuff halfway I replace the igniter it worked for a little while And now it won’t work again I don’t know if I got a messed up part if I wired it wrong if the wires are too long I need if I need to cut them I’m at a loss right now

Did you get any smoke from the igniter after installing it? I recently installed mine and it lights my oven much faster however I noticed it smokes a little bit I’m thinking it’s due to the part being new?

FOXBOSS9 Frigidaire Oven FFGF3047LSE when you put BAKE it clicks and trips the GFI I thought it was ignitor replaced it with your helpful video. It still TRIPS the GFI , when I disconnect the IGNITOR from safety valve it will not TRIP GFI does it mean it is gas VALVE issue? Please help

I replaced the igniter but it's still not glowing up/turning on. I can hear the control panel click on. What could the problem be? I have a Frigidaire.

Possibly an igniter relay... Best to call a local appliance repair as just putting parts on trying to fix the problem without diagnosing the issue, would cost more than paying to have it fixed..
