OMG, I LOVE this movie even though I’m now 30 years old because even though it didn’t scare me; I was still pretty impressed with how HORRIFYING the vampire lady looked when she revealed that she wasn’t human and was actually the villain of the movie. It’s pretty good of a movie and if you haven’t already checked it out yet; Jinxed is actually really good too 😂🥰🩷

I'm quite a fan of the werewolf designs in the film. They look solid and bulky, where someone might've assumed the Victoria Justice werewolf would be sleek and pretty like her. Plus I can never hate practical effects with a touch of CGI polish.

The Boy Who Cried Werewolf was an interesting look at what things might have been like if Nick had created more tv movies to compete with Disney's original movies like Smart House, Brink!, and (of course) Halloweentown. Glad to see someone talking about it.

Not that they didn't create some movies, but Nick's powerhouse was definitely their cartoon lineup and Disney knocked it out of the park many times with their live action original movies. The 90s/00s was a great time to be a kid.

Fun fact: that moment where they first enter the castle (door opens by itself, they go in, door slams shut behind them, housekeeper appears out of nowhere) was used again, beat for beat, in the first episode of House of Anubis when Nina first enters the titular house. I highly doubt it was intentional, as the show premiered not too long after the movie, but it's interesting that two Nickelodeon horror properties have a nearly identical scene to each other.

I think the core problem with this movie, for me anyway, is that it's centered around Victoria Justice's character, but it ends with her brother becoming/staying the werewolf? Like, I get the movie is called "The Boy Who Cried Werewolf" so technically it is his story even if he's not the main character, but it just feels like VJ's character got ripped off. The movie centered its conflict around her acceptance of who she is and what she can become, and then it just said "the BOY is the one-true werewolf!" and shoved her aside so he can have the spotlight in the end. Would have been a much more interesting finale with her becoming the Wolfsburg Werewolf.
@peelomilo
@peelomilo Жыл бұрын
That would be cool, I know for plot purposes she had to become human again but honestly after it showing how much becoming a werewolf truly helped her I feel it would have been cooler to show her accepting her new nature and embracing it fully

Despite the fact this film committed the cardinal sins of Werewolf movies (having the full transformation be *offscreen*) It was okay for its post-Twilight era. It was quite nice seeing the werewolves be heroes and the Main characters for once. Hasn’t seen that since Sonic Unleashed.

I am surprised to see this movie again. First thoughts seeing the thumbnail was "Oh hey, I remember this movie. It had Victoria Justice turn into a werewolf and they all sang Brittany Spears at the end!" Honestly really remember enjoying this movie, though looking at it 13 years later it's definitely aged a bit weirdly. I remember from the trailers it looking like a superhero story where the werewolf starts out learning how to use her new abilities, which wasn't exactly the case but still enjoyable nonetheless. Funny thing is I unintentionally did this plot with one of my friend's player characters in a TTRPG, where their character had a weird potion spilled on her (close enough to being blood, right? xP) and she became a werewolf with cool wolf powers. XD

I remember that movie! It was so on brand for nickelodeon that I didn’t even roll my eyes too much at all of the corny ness :-)🐺 I honestly loved some of their dedication. Such as, how we would hear werewolves howling in the distance every time someone said, they are great uncles name, and then, when the father says the great uncle’s name in front of his two kids transformed as werewolves, and they immediately how in his face. That honestly made me laugh out loud

The really big thing I don't get is why did the brother turn into a werewolf quicker and more easily than his sister? Also did she get her werewolf powers from stepping on the glass with the blood or was it just a coincidence? Was she not originally a werewolf but had like a dormant gene that needed to be "awaken" from werewolf blood? Because the brother just easily turned into a werewolf with just rage alone, like the Hulk.

I think Victoria Justice's best role is still Lola from Zoey 101. That role really stands out to me compared to a lot of her roles she which is often the awkward straight man. Also her Shelby Marx felt like less of a character and more of a plot device that goes along with what the script needs her to do.

The thing I remember most about this movie is that is suffers from what I like the call Makerover Solutions. Basically it's moment in a story when a woman's problems get solved because she gets a makeover that makes her look more desirable. The start and end of movie annoys me because It sends a message with the right look a girl will attract the guy she wants to attract.

Man, what a throwback! This film came out when I was 12, and even though my tastes were still maturing, I do remember liking it. At that point I had already been watching iCarly, so after seeing her in the episode where she's an MMA fighter, I must've figured having Victoria Justice in a "horror" film would be pretty neat. I haven't watched The Boy Who Cried Werewolf in years, and while it hasn't aged all that well, I still appreciate it for the nostalgic value it had for my childhood.

For each Victoria Justice Halloween movie I have one particular thing stuck in my head. Brook Shields as the caretaker is burned into my brain. Didn’t know at the time that it was a reference to Cloris Leachman in Young Frankenstein. Also am I the only one remembers the other Victoria Justice Halloween movie where she has an annoying little brother? It was trying to be PG-13 comedy. She crashed into a giant animatronic(?), inflatable (?) chicken and it looked like the chicken was humping her car. I remember it being in a trailer, and it was distributed by Paramount or Columbia Pictures.

With Caroline Rhea? Yeah. Had the dad from The Nanny, Mazz from The Doodlebops (who was also Dr. Jenkins from the movie Charlie Bartlett [RIP Anton Yelchin], the guy who played Ken Tanaka on Glee/Hugo from Endgame [it had such a short run, but I loved the series] and of course, LAURA VANDERVOORT who had been on almost all of the tv shows I loved watching from V to Smallville, to Bitten, to Mutant X (she was only on one episode but I remember it bc I had just finished the rewatch of the series on Freevee) These movies definitely bring me back to the time when "my mom" "my babysitter" "my neighbor" "my step-mom" and etc etc all had plots of either them being an alien, a robot, vampire... @@brittnicbee

This movie has kind of become a Halloween guilty pleasure for me. It's a little campy especially Brooke Shields' performance as the creepy housekeeper, it just makes this movie even more over the top.

I remember seeing this as a kid. It felt super long to me for some reason and as a kid the vampire reveal was not only a plot twist to me (probably because I was little and wasn’t paying attention) but it was legitimately scary to me.

As a kid in 2010 that had a thing for Victoria and also had a thing for monsters... Let me tell YOU. This movie absolutely rearranged my brain chemistry.

Didn't even knew this movie existed, I always liked werewolves so I probably would have loved this film when it came out.
